The dislikes are probably from, a. People who have never paid for a private ballroom dance lesson. b. People who don’t appreciate the technique of ballroom dancing which has to be mastered to ensure that both partners feel comfortable c. And most likely people with poor eye sight and hand eye coordination who meant to press the “like symbol.” ! I have told so many people about this channel and they are in absolute awe of the quality of the instruction and the production of the videos. Many of my friends have spotted Mr Smagris judging dancing high level competitions on You Tube. I only wish Mr Smagris was here in Australia.

Always a good demo. having danced to a reasonable standard for many years, if pupills only realize that learning correctly from experts is more enjoyable and less painful as you get older. Well done Eglis.

I think either the audio track is out of sync with the video, or the timing is off here. For example, coming out of the preparation step, step 3 should land about half way between 3 and 1, but it lands between 2 and 3. Same thing with the 3 coming out of telemark. I still give this a thumbs up, because Egils is a super awesome contributer to KZfaq.

These are nowhere near basic considering technique , posture , rise and fall , swing and sway , etc. I would say the telemark itself would be a Silver Syallbus pattern. Amazing patterns nonetheless.

Thanks for appreciating this waltz routine! Basic can refer to all figures included in technique books - in that sense this is basic lesson.
