lol not at all, i've seen worse ( better) from just online play with 6 hour games and having 1 vil and coming back to win, cant believe no enemies quit or disconnected after 6 hours either (i've also had a 4 hours game of aoe 3) im 1840 elo on hd and captain on aoe 3 so i know how to play too

Man, I had a crazy comeback game recently. 4v4 BF. We crushed 3 out of 4, but 2 rebuilt and just flooded us with skirms.. just couldn't stop the flood haha

He's very defeatable, if only people would look to creative method

The Viper is very aggressive normally, and has amazing micro, but he's also very reckless with his units and his strategy is usually very straightforward as well. Playing against him is like playing against a super AI with amazing micro that sometimes lacks the ability to judge when it is putting it's units in too much danger. TheViper gave Daut way too many opportunities to flatten his hand cannons, and it's sheer luck, or bad luck depending on who you were rooting for, that Daut missed almost everytime. Although given the civ choices and that it was post-imp I doubt it wouldve made any difference by that point even if he hit, but Viper is generally very reckless in his playstyle, he's the real Hero killer >.

This! Why is this comment so far down? The only reason he was able to "not lose" was the unbalanced map. DauT even won the first game with a crapy map.

Yes, but he also chose this strategy because of his map. So it's a good map for him, but the come back itself isn't lucky.

They did have obsidian though, did they not? I'd be much more afraid of obsidian than I would be iron.

The didn't have armor, but they had wooden swords with obsidian edges, bows with obsidian arrowheads and. Obsidian is very sharp, but also very brittle, so it will break after the first strike against armor.

They did have armor. People underestimate how effective non metal armor was. I bet it's the most used form of armor in all civs. But due to the material rotting away we've found little.

Trash spam needs farms. Remember, Daut was fast imping with a weak eco behind all that. There was nothing he could have done once his fast imp push/raid failed. It's high risk, high reward.

I guess he had enough time to build some farms, collect some food and produce at least 10 or 12 skirmishers. That would have ended the game early.

Yea but the rate that berries are collected are the slowest of all the food resources. 18 food per minute vs 22 for Boar or Deer

You didn`t understand my comment. Easy assumption: a) 1 Villager hunts a deer and is then tasked to collect from a berrybush vs. b) 1 Villager collects from a berrybush and is then tasked to hunt a deer. The time spent and the food gathered is the same. The food in the bank is higher earlier in a) than it is in b). But it is the same in the end. As long as you have enough food to do all things required (vill production/upgrades/clicking up) it doesnt matter what order you choose. Hope that clears things up.

It does, actually. When you're going for a very quick age up, you need the resources to be at hand as soon as the buildings are up. I am assuming you're talking specifically for this case, but the easiest example would be doing a fast feudal - one where you do a standard distribution will help you click up much sooner than putting a lot more vills on berries.

You make a good point, but your assumption that the berries will be used 100% is not always correct. I see players leaving berries around and switching to farms in a lot of these games. (Viper still had a few berry bushes left in this one). In a typical old school build order you usually go for berries after you click up, and then put down your first farms in feudal age once you get the mill upgrade. But top players deviate a lot from this ofc, to match their needs and map conditions.

I think i didn`t phrase it well, i should ve written "If they`ll be used 100%, then it won`t matter". You`re absolutly correct that the result will deviate if they don`t use all the berries. I`m not around for long so i have no clue about old build orders. But i haven`t seen any pro player leave berries. (In this game it was actually an additional berrypatch)

If he release all the games at once you can tell who won the set based on the number of games and who won the first few. This way anyone who is unaware of the result gets to experience the excitement of not knowing the result.
