When our go-to car detailer told us that the EGO 580 CFM blower was too long, we took that as a challenge. After some quick engineering at the shop, we came up with the perfect solution. In fact, we're hoping that EGO decides to run with the design. This stubby format works great for drying cars and using in any close-proximity situation.
With a 56V battery on tap, the 580CFM and 168 MPH velocity will get the work done, whether drying cars or blowing dirt and leaves. We cut a full 11-inches from the snout, taking the blower from 3-feet to just 25-inches.

Absolute genius......I just bought the 765 and it’s a great machine . Was looking at the options out there for smaller nozzles and all of them would cost in the 100 dollar CDN range. The hundred bucks is not the issue it’s that those options are crap. The obsessed garage one is a clunky clumsy stupid design that looks awful. The stubby nozzle co. one looks great but is just thin plastic with no positive locking mechanism like the oem. I would not trust that around my C8. They say it won’t fly off like a North Korean nuke...so let them use it on their own dam cars. Then I saw your video ...... brilliant ! I actually cut 1/2 inch off both ends just to get a larger mating surface and on the 765 you don’t need to cut that small reducing ring as the end cut almost fits in the base cut , some sanding of the pieces and a good clean up took care of that for a vert snug fit . I used 30 minute epoxy and now i have an end result that is just like it was made by EGO specifically for that machine . Beautiful mechanical locking of all the parts and looks like it was bought that way . And it didn’t cost me a dime or having to wait a week or more for the order to come in. Thank you shop tool reviews for making this fantastic video .

Another idea for you from over the pond (UK). I have ordered the gutter cleaning set AGC1000 (£40) and will use the first part and attach it to the machine. Looks similar but without the option of attaching the tips. For those like me - pen pushers who can't quite cut in a straight line...

Isn't the ridge inside on the cone now disrupting the airflow? You could either fill that in with epoxy to make it a smooth internal surface, or 3D print the entire cone to replace it. I've seen several other EGO users having the stubby cone printed.

@iamsam8446 2 жыл бұрын
Indeed, I was going to mention the same thing. Before the unit was modified, the bore was smooth as the circumference was sized down gradually. Even taping the inside where it was modified should help, but it's to gauge how significant without measuring the output.
