Basically he said that setting up a trust requires a financial advisor and a lawyer. But listen to the financial advisor and then ask the lawyer to setup the trust according to that what the financial advisor has advised you.

What happens when one of many beneficiaries passes away before the trustee gets to distribute the trust funds? Does that portion go to the dead beneficiary's estate ?

A trust that's incorporated is not private. The only trust that's private is a business trust. It's unincorporated meaning it's not registered and it's TAX EXEMPT in nature.

(I'll never do a trust I think a will is best) My dad set up a trust for mom and him -- one million of assets. 10 years after they passed us kids have gotten only the pictures. house, business, shares and all assets were sold off to fund the trust distribution/ attorney cost. Just make a will. b and sisters got nothing, but perhaps it can be good if you are the conservative of the trust and rob your b and sisters.
