Aren't the rwd spring to low for the front axle? if you drop more than 1'' the axle is going to wear out

Hi there! Thanks for watching! It is the Eiback Pro Kit Specs say lowers 1.4 inch (35mm) front, 1.6 inch (40mm) rear. This was for the RWD 335i. But, mine is the AWD 335ix. I think it lowered mine more than what the spec said. I loved it! Let me know if you have more questions.

Why did you have to replace the boot? Didn't Dinan take that in account when they made it, or is it necessary to swap that? I don't hear other people have to do this.. I'm just wondering because I'm not sure if I should just get some F80 M3 bump stops with the longer boot.
@kamolnarbaev44902 жыл бұрын
This is a good question. I remember reading somewhere if you don't switch to shorter and stiffer bump stops, it's gonna be riding on the bumps stops too much. You need as much room as possible for compression because the springs are shorter now. I didn't want to take the risk and end up with unpleasant ride.
@Mike6042 жыл бұрын
@@kamolnarbaev4490 I think I was referring to the boot sleeve... not the actual bump stop itself...

@@Mike604 Ahh sorry. Not sure why I started talking about bump stops lol. In the case of the boot, I figured more cover I have over the shock the better. And the didan boots were just a hard plastic.

Great video mate. I'm driving f31 330d Xdrive Msport lci, and considering to change springs for Xdrive version for two reasons. Firstly, with lots of gear in the boot, on higher speeds on European motorways and autobahns, front isn't as stable as empty. Secondly, my older cars in the past, f46 and f90, after changing from Msport spring to eibach, I have noticed ride to be more compliant despite being slightly lower. By the way, alpina use eibach as well and they are waymore comfortable than stock bmw cars. I'm puzzled now, as I'm not going for the look, but more stability and comfort. I have got adaptive shocks as well. Did anybody tried these springs on their cars? Thanks.
@kamolnarbaev44903 жыл бұрын
Hey there. Thanks for the input. It's greatly appreciated. I was going for a bit stiffer ride, as well as the looks. As you saw, I have a f30 335i xDrive, but I've installed the Eibach RWD version because of the extra drop. It is not as complain only when I go over bumps on comfort mode. The springs seem to be a perfect fit for the SPORT mode though. And I do have Adaptive Suspension too. Eibach says the springs are about 10% stiffer, but you can barely notice it. Overall I am really happy. Also, I did not know that Alpina uses Eibach springs too. Recently I added wheel spacers, and now my wheels sit flush with the wheel arches. Even when I load up the car with people, still no rubbing and very complaint ride. I hope this answers your question somewhat. If not, hit me up again, and best of luck.

@@kamolnarbaev4490 thanks for info, I'm glad you are happy with your mods. Mine is running on stock 19 inches and recently changed to non run flats falkens. Because speedo was too much out, I decided to fit slightly wider ones. 235/40/19 fronts and 265/35/19 rears. Because of that, tyres are slightly higher as well and speedo is nearly perfect, shows 100mph on 99gps. Tyres are more flush in wheel arches, and there is more rim protection as a bonus, but there's no room for spacers anymore. Now, ride quality, lack of noise and more grip is just fantastic. Highly recommended. I think I may go for Xdrive eibach, but need to find out, if it may void my extended bmw warranty...

@@maciejsuchecki7653 yea you definitely do no need spacers with 265 rear, and I hear you on the rim protection too. I am running Michelin Pilot Super Sports. You should send a pic. I will post a link below.

Is there a reason why you replaced the bump stops? Can you keep the original xdrive ones or do you really need to replace them? I'm asking cause i bought the same springs.
@kamolnarbaev44903 жыл бұрын
Hey there. The factory bump stops are too long for the shorter springs. You will be hitting the bump stop alot earlier in the suspension travel if you do not replace them with the shorter ones. Some people cut the stock ones, but I would not recommend it because the stock ones are not stiff enough to protect your shocks. If you go through the trouble to replace the springs, I would highly recommend replacing the bump stops too. If you get the Dinan bump stops, keep in mind that you have to use the stock sleeves with the dinan bump stop. It is in the video. Let me know if you got any more questions, and best of luck. You gonna love the look once you lower it!!
