The reason for Eid ul Adha sacrifice is for five main reason: 1. To commemorates the covenant between God and Prophet Ibrahim (Abraham). 2. For Prophet Ibrahim willing to sacrifice his son Prophet Ishmael and Prophet Ishmael willing to be sacrificed, but God intervening and replacing it with a goat/ram because the sincerity of Prophet Ibrahim and Ishmael. 3. The point of sacrifice is to count your blessings, and to take care of a creature that you get fond of but sacrificing that animal and trusting God to help us sacrifice other things in life that you love, like people love money, sacrifice your money and give it to the poor, people are busy with their time so sacrifice your time to spend with your family and relatives and in God's path. 4. To provide food for the needy. 5. To become God conscious and thankful for what you have. People want to eat meat but don't want to see how the meat comes. Also in Pakistan sometimes they aren't strict about it but the method to slaughter is called Zabihah which makes it halal. To do that you need to: 1. Have a permissible animal to sacrifice (i.e cattles, goats). 2. Must be mature and not young (teeth have to be formed). 3. Has to be healthy and no signs of damage or injury. 4. Must be given proper food and water, especially water before sacrifice. 5. Must not be slaughtered infront of another animal or other animals should not see it. 6. The knife must be sharp and not dull. 7. Must face animal towards Makkah and the jugular veins cut but not the whole neck so the blood flows out.

I had to explain to a Bangladeshi, new to America, about how we slaughter cows. He was pretty shocked by it. Even though he's witnessed 21 years of sacrificing them on EID. If you grow up seeing it then it's not a big deal I'm sure. If a Muslim explains EID to you then you'll get it. I also tried camel kebab on EID. DAMN it was good! EID Mubarak (late) to all Muslims reading this. Maybe one day I can be in Pakistan for this, and help feed the less fortunate. You are great people!
