It is a 3 day event and in all Muslims countries it is the major holiday. Islamic new year start after nearly 3 months according to lunar calendar. After this event we get the next Eid in the last month of lunar calendar on the date of 10 of Zilhajj ( the last month name).

Eid Al-Fitr is a celebrating day after finished fasting full 1 month. It's consider holiday in Muslim Majority country or country who have significant Muslim population like India. Even some city in the West like New York consider as school holiday.

Islam have significant contribution in Chinese history especially during Ming Dynasty but nowadays it became strict and more Muslim Uyghur migration to other country. Chinese government has no problem with Hui Muslim (Han Muslim Chinese who have mix blood) but they have problem with Uyghur.
