I enjoyed Tom Mahood's debunking of Bob Lazar: www.otherhand.org/home-page/area-51-and-other-strange-places/looking-at-the-bob-lazar-story-from-the-perspective-of-2018/ Tom Mahood is well positioned to look at this stuff having worked on LIGO, and his Masters degree focused on experimental investigations involving the possibilities of an exotic form of gravitational propulsion.

It would be incredibly exciting to believe Bob's story, but the truth is that nothing in the documentary comes close to truly collaborating his claims. Corbell makes a huge deal of the image of a hand reader, implying that it was privileged information that somehow proves Bob's authenticity. That section of the documentary HAS to be disingenuous. Identimats, as they were called, became commercially available in the 70s and it will take anyone here a few seconds to find many pictures of them online. As a matter of fact, one of the models - which you can see on the Wikipedia entry for 'hand geometry' - more closely matches Bob's description of a device with pins that you slip your fingers between. So the hand reader proves absolutely nothing except that Bob, who's clearly a geek for tech and gadgets, was somewhat more aware of biometrics than your average guy in the 1980s. I was also struck by how inconclusive the newspaper article about Bob's rocket car actually is. Sure, the article describes the hobbyist who built the car as 'a physicist who works at Los Alamos'. But that only tells us that Bob was *claiming* to be a Los Alamos physicist as early as 1982, since the writer of this silly fluff-piece presumably didn't put vast resources into researching its subject. It proves nothing. Then there's the moment when Corbell excitedly relates his conversations with the security guy who supposedly played a role in securing Bob's clearance. All we know about this is that the filmmaker, who's already shown himself to be somewhat gullible and prone to over-excitement (see identimat 'revelation'), *claims* to have spoken to such a person. Again, this isn't proof of anything. I would love nothing more than to believe stories of alien visitation. But am I able to believe that a scientist as reputable as Edward Teller was so impressed by Bob's ability to weld WWII rocket technology to a Honda that he employed him to back-engineer alien spacecraft? No I am not.
@Eigenbros
@Eigenbros 5 жыл бұрын
We didn't get to see the actual documentary but your synopsis seems to be spot on. Bob convey's a believable story but the hand reader, as you stated, is not really proof of anything and many other things don't seem to add up.Too bad Edward Teller is no longer alive, because I'd love to see someone ask him about Lazar.

@@Eigenbros ...Teller was indeed asked about Bob Lazar in an interview. Teller just refused to answer. Does this prove that Lazar worked on captured alien technology at S4? No, it doesn't. What it does indicate, however, is the possibility that Lazar is on the DOD's payroll. More on this later.

I've never really been into any crazy conspiracies/occults/hidden government type stuff. I just have always loved Sci-fi and the idea of extraterrestrial existence. That's why I enjoy Bob Lazar's claim best. I love hearing about what he has to say because he seems to view everything from a scientific standpoint. He has always stressed that he was fascinated in the Physics and his main issue was that he claims this technology exists and thats what he is concerned about.

I think your assessment of Corbell is perfect. He’s a shyster and a conman. He behaves like a used car sales man trying to put one over you by smiling and sweet talking with confidence. He behaves like a thug, trying to conceal his aggressiveness long enough to make money. I’ll never forget his debate with Stanton Friedman where he was rude, crude, crass, aggressive and totally disrespectful toward someone older than him and million times more accomplished than him. The guys lexicon is laced with words like “hey man”, “badass”, “dude”, etc. You can talk like this with your friends who are into hip-hop. You don’t hold a debate with a famous nuclear scientist using language such as this. What a clueless buffoon! He even resorted to slapping Stanton’s arm and back in a kind of condescending manner. This was physically intimidating and aggressive toward a frail old man. That’s how people like Jeremy Corbell try to prove their point- by steamrolling over people. He’s got none. I think he’s a trickster who is using Bob’s true or untrue story to make money.

50:00 The way I understood it is that the aircraft that Bob saw when he walked into the hanger was not Alien, it was one of those human built prototype's that you can see being tested in old videos (google "project 1974" for an example). Still pretty cool, but not on the same level as Alien tech would be which is why it was stored relatively casually in the entrance hanger and why it had the American flag (why the hell would they paint the American flag on an Alien ship).

'If I or anyone around me dies suddenly or inexplicably then this element will be discovered by many journalists' - He said he only told this story because he was scared, this whole thing is all about insurance, element 115 is the smoking gun and his ultimate leverage, giving it up could put him in serious jeopardy, I'm pretty sure they would have told him in no uncertain terms that releasing this element will be the death of him and ones he loves.

Also I can't remotely remember one teacher from my higher education, I can remember them I just can't pull up 20 year old names. Btw I have a friend in medical school I asked him who he could remember from his pre med education, he recalled 2 one a family friend and another a famous person who he said was not his direct teacher, he was trying to remember more, I doubt in a few years he'd remember anyone unless directly connected to him.

@@AnatoleBranch Your perspective does make sense, since he was caught in the act, and maybe one could see this as his last ditch effort not to be killed by the government. However, I still remain unconvinced because anyone coming out about aliens can be easily regarded as crazy without the government going through such lengths to keep him quiet. If Bob actually had evidence of secret programs, in my opinion, that would make him more likely to be killed since that gives his crazy stories credibility. At the end of the day, Bob has an interesting story and we'll never truly know unless more credible witnesses can attest to Bob claims and add further supporting evidence to his story.

The "migraine" comes when they talk about element 115. The original show with George Knapp alluded that Bob stole a sample of it from the lab as insurance and physical evidence. That's what Bob and Jeremy are suggesting to be the focus of recent raid on his workplace. If it is true it would be obvious why he becomes nervous to say the least. It seems that Bob is not interested for us to know the truth but to only protect his skin and settle score with authorities for stupid things he did. My problem with Bob's story is the working conditions don't sound realistic. The information we're given is the government has some piece of technology it wants broken down and reverse engineered. It has at its disposal the biggest brains from every research university in the country working in the most advanced lab in the world guarded by the single most powerful military in written history operating in such secrecy that no known laws apply to them. All of it is funded by the full weight of every NATO-block economy. And apparently after spending decades getting nowhere while on the cusp of the single biggest discovery in human existence, one that could upend everything we know about the laws of nature...these PhDs are going to put their egos aside and say "F*@k it, lets see if the new guy can figure out out. No, not the kid from MIT, the lab tech standing next to him with the jet-powered moped in the parking lot. Bob I think is his name?" Question. Let's assume Lazar's story is legit for a minute. If I have the story right, as soon as his higher ups discovered his wife was having an affair via phone taps, they took Lazar off of the job. If he really had 115, he would have to of taken it before he lost access, correct? It seems 98% of his reasoning for "coming out" was for his own safety as he stated "if they are kicking me off the job there is no way they are going to let me go get a normal job knowing what I know". Do you really think he would be dumb enough to steal something while he was there working and not feeling threatened? What would be his motivation to steal some 115 before he lost access and felt his safety being threatened? I think that part of the story is bogus. Also, watching the documentary where he and the film maker were talking in the woods (apparently about Bob's possession of 115) it seems a lot was said before the film maker thought to turn off the phones. If I were in his position and the story was true I would probably do the same thing. I also wouldn't be dumb enough to disclose information like that with a cell phone in my pocket unless I was purposely bluffing and wanted to see if anyone was listening. If his story is legit, I don't think he stole anything as he would have no reason to before he was taken off the job. It sounds like an off the cuff claim that he made up thinking it would make for an insurance policy on his safety. If he really had it, he would have showed his friends that he took to watch the test flights......or he's a bullshit con artist master manipulator haha. What are you thoughts?
@Eigenbros
@Eigenbros 5 жыл бұрын
I'm not convinced that Bob claiming to have stolen element 115 would really protect him from the government. If he were to release it publicly and have it verified by experts, the government could still easily deny that it has anything to do with extraterrestrials and it could have just been discovered in a typical laboratory setting. Of course, it would give Bob a whole lot more legitimacy, but protection seems unlikely. I think he simply stopped talking about it simply for the reasons that we mentioned in the video. It's incredibly easy to debunk Bob if claims to have a sample of 115. Since a scientist will just say show me and they'll want to test it themselves. There's no hiding behind a story when you claim to have actual evidence that can be scientifically tested.

Good thinking, but if Bob is a physicst, he has friends or family who probably work in a University Lab. He can send it to a research group at a school in Las Vegas, for example, and they can easily use Mass Spectrometry to test the 115. The only approval he would need would be from the research group he's involved with (no government involvement), and many times you could still find ways around that. Also, Bob only needs a very small amount of 115 so he could easily keep the rest hidden. He claims S4 had 500 pounds so if he even stole a marble-sized portion, that would be a huge amount.

Thank you for this episode. Finally, someone who explained how we could measure his alleged isotope in case it actually existed in the form he claims to be. Other than that, he’s full of BS. There’s also a great detailed post about him on Reddit, why he isn’t credible at all. I’ll link to it at the end of my comment. Nevertheless, I have a hypothetical question for you: Somewhere in some old documents, he claims that the frequency of the gravitational wave pulses at 7,46 Hz at a one micrometer wavelength. ATM I cannot access the document where I got these numbers. A while ago, I read about some possible future events for measuring gravitational waves out in space which was planned to happen in 2025 or something along these lines. Due to the characteristics of gravitational waves the LIGO detectors are not precise (enough yet). However, once that experiment or some other kinds finally reveals us the frequency and wavelength and that turns out to be what Lazar claimed; what would you make of that? Would you still say he’s full of it? All his credibility issues aside, this one seems like the only (scientific) way to check his story besides his alleged Element 115. Maybe he got these numbers from John Lear too, but what would be the chance that out of billions of numbers this one is actually right? In case it turns out to be valid at some point, the story is gonna get a whole new meaning and one should reevaluate what has been stated … and if not then nothing has changed, as we know now it’s made up. Would love to hear your take on this! new.reddit.com/r/UFOs/comments/oyxuok/bob_lazars_story_is_it_believable_here_is_some_of/

Great reply and thanks for the high praise. To start, a 1 um wavelength gravity wave would produce a frequency of 300 Mhz so the number you gave is off. Secondly, just because Bob can do an elementary calculation of frequency doesn't prove anything. Black hole mergers produce frequencies of 30-80 Hz, which means Bob's 1um wavelengths (assuming that is the number) are 6 orders of magnitude higher in energy that black hole collisions (energy is a function of frequency) That would imply that his spacecraft should have been easily detected already

I'm a undergraduate engineering student and even with the basic chemistry and physics I've learned so far that was my first question when I heard him talking about this mysterious element. I thought it was cool that you guys even took the time to outline the methodology you could use to determine the isotope of a sample element. Wouldn't this have been something that Bob's group should have worked on? I don't know much about advanced propulsion research but determining the chemical properties of any machine's fuel source should be one of the first steps in understanding how it works and if there are any glaring constraints.

Indeed you are 100% correct. I'd wager this would be almost every scientists first question and it is extremely easy to determine the isotope. I’m no physicist, so maybe I’m missing something, but I don’t see how his claims about 115 are compelling in any way. So he picked a number that was undiscovered at the time? What else would you do if you were making shit up? He probably should have gone a little higher though, because it seems more like the synthesizing of 115 later does more to discredit his claims, than it does to support them. The biggest problem I have with his story is that not only has he not allowed anyone credible to study the 115 he supposedly lifted, he seemingly hasn’t contributed a single interesting bit of useful information to the scientific community at all. That’s kind of odd, considering he’s so special that he was handpicked to be part of a small team tasked with reverse engineering alien spacecraft. Doesn’t he ever grow frustrated having to explain this stuff to non scientists like myself, and Joe Rogan? Why hasn’t he ever made any effort to reach out to the only people he can actually effectively explain any of the more technical aspects of his story to? The only people who could help validate his claims? And to the people who suggest that he’s not interested in publicity, validation, or attention, I call bs. He’s been at it for 30 years. Nothing to gain, some people say. Well, if we assume that someone has the type of psychology that would cause them to engage in a hoax like this, it’s just silly to consider what their motivations are as if they were a fully rational person. Crazy doesn’t have to make sense. Besides that, there are plenty of examples of people doing crazy shit for fame and attention. That’s like 90% of what the internet is.

I love you guys, thanks for the ultimate conclusion on Lazar, but you yield way too much along the way. (Edit to insert that Lazar may not have been talking about Moscovium, element 115, just something with the name "element 115.") Have you run a half life calculation on the 500lbs of Moscovium (Symbol:Mc, element 115) that Lazar claimed he had? You got the half life right, 0.65 seconds. But everything after that discussing how Lazar could prove what he had? Well consider this: 500lbs is approx 250 kg, so divide that in grams by the molecular weight 290g/mol to convert to N, the number of moles of Mc, N=862. Let's round up to N=1000 moles. Plugging that into the half life calculator to see how much is left after one day, or 86,000 seconds or ONE HUNDRED AND THIRTY TWO THOUSAND half lives .. it's effectively ZERO, after just one day. Lazard's claim is absurd on the face of it.... but that's not even as obvious a lie as the OTHER thing that powers his 'gravity' propulsion... anti-matter. Oh sure anti-matter is real, but so far there has been some tiny tiny TINY fraction of a gram produced by the worlds leading researcher.

He could be just telling the truth. But I'm so skeptical I still tend to lean that he made it up back then but is very smart and obviously works as a scientist to this day. It's not an easy one to crack, I agree with that. Bob has no need to lie, he has never made money from this, that’s not to say he might not be now but, Bob has always said, he doesn’t care if anybody believes him or not!!

I am not smart enough for this show. But I am quite certain that Bob Lazar is lying about his master's degrees from MIT & Caltech, and that means that he has a prospensity to make himself appear grander than he actually is. Perhaps he was a type of Lab tech or something at Los Alamos & "S4", but I seriously doubt if he actually saw or worked on the projects that he described. Perhaps he is speculating on things that he surmised from conversations with coworkers and using that speculation as the basis for his outrageous story.

I love these titles, especially because I loved the late James Randi. He made a career out of being a magician and then debunking psychic mediums and frauds. I love all this stuff. You only need to scratch the surface of research to know that these people are bullshit artists. It scares me that thousands of people that believe all this crap, not just Bob Lazar, but all the psychic medium paranormal investigator uphologist all these ridiculous people. I have to admit though they're more entertaining than the idiots that they believe

bobs followers are zealous and will try to come up with a new excuse for everything. i think bob comes off as a normal polite guy. but its so weird to see people getting so defensive when any of of their ideas are held to smallest amount of scrutiny becuase they cannot provde any results. it seems so obvious that they just WANT these things to be true because its fun and exciting, and it is. but there is just nothing of substance on their side. no issue with them just talking about it for fun but when they start defending things and coming of with excuses, i feel like thats too far
