JEFF LORBER is the most underrated street player of all time. That MASSIVE hair he had! I met him after a show recently and I took a couple of his early LPs and Kenny G's debut LP for him to sign. He was surprised I had the records and that anyone knew of the music he did back then. In my eyes, he's a giant of the genre. So much consistently great output, both as a musician and producer. Forget Karyn White, Jeff needs his own Unsung episode!!

I LOVE this song 'cause it takes me back to my second trip to L.A. in December of '86. As opposed to Toronto, the FM stations were soooo powerful and I so loved blasting this tune in my car! Thanks for some great memories!

I have fond memories of recording this song off of the Video Music Box midnight replay...Recorded from the television! 📺 My mother,still having some of her hearing, Would come into my room and wonder why I was still up at such a late hour. Her voice telling me to go to bed is still captured on those recordings.😿

I don't know why this girl didn't become a bigger star than she was. Karyn White could sing, dance and was FINE AS HELL to boot. Terry Lewis is a lucky man to have snagged her. If he is reading this, let him know I'll wrestle him for a date with her. lol.

Totally agree. Chaka has a range that most singers can't mess with. Never heard Karyn White hit those notes ever. I do love Karyn White. She'd definitely rips the "non-singers" of today who are auto-tune. Got her on tape when her debut came out and it was a normal staple for me. One of LA Reid and Babyface's great projects. She was a great background singer for Sheena Easton, Johnny Gill, and Pebbles.
