I think Kalka mail’s line after Gomoh was clear and Sampark Kranti’s line to Bokaro had some traffic. So railway tried to make Kalka mail reach Gomoh on time and delay Sampark Kranti because they knew it would anyways get delayed after Gomoh. Or maybe they knew Sampark Kranti will cover up but Kalka mail won’t be able to so they had to let it overtake.

Bhai I'm a controller in ECR. The reason kalka overtook your train is because punctuality of your train and NE was already lost and kalka was running RT so it was given priority.

If a train is running 1 hour late in sonpur division and it is taken over by Danapur division 1 hour late then to maintain punctuality in Danapur division, it has to make sure the train doesn't get late more than 1 hour when giving over to other division, say DDU

Satya bhai please travel on Kalka Mail. If not end to end, then at least from Delhi to Howrah. I was pleasantly surprised by the priority it received over and above Sampark Kranti. And you are right, once it gets a LHB rake, it will be even more hard to beat

You should definitely travel in the Kalka Mail once end to end. After all, it is one of the legendary trains of IR. Glad to see the priority given to this train in spite of ICF rake and so many stops and a very generous schedule between Delhi and Howrah.

Bhai Kalka mail (Netaji exp) is most priority daily train of Eastern Railway but JH smpk is weekly that's always delayed (most train become late in evening time they reach DDU)
