The music, the costume and hair style, the choreography...can't be more in the Russian ballet tradition (which was an essential part of their training), and they should have performed with ease and achieved perfection. Apart from the hiccups, this is a beautiful piece of work (hence high on Artistic Impression), and I particularly like this image of Sergei - like a noble Russian prince.

Beautiful young couple. Sergei was Outstanding in his performance although Katia made a few bobbles. It wasn’t enough to really be Noticed. The overall program was wonderful and very exciting. I Loved the Program.

Кактабтся они как-то медленно. Выступления у них не очень энергичные . Или мне кажется ? Сейчас у фигуристов более высокие требования, или опять кажется ?

She skated awful here. I mean she she was still artistic and graceful, but I don't know where her head was. He on the other hand, skated very well, graceful, artistic and solid as ever. I wonder what Sergei thought when she was making so many mistakes? Wonder if he was annoyed with her or angry with her? Right away I noticed that he was superior to her in his skating ability, a stronger skater and superior technically. Though she was inferior technically to him she had great artistic ability, so that helped her to make up for her technical weakness.

Sergei was always gentle and loving - he understood she was struggling to adapt after a recent (late) growth spurt in '89. She wrote in her book that Sergei was always patient, calm and kind, very protective and strong, both on and off the ice.

Sergei was definitely the superior jumper, but aside from that I felt Katia was an equally strong skater. The effortless speed, her form on the ice, she had no problems keeping up with Sergei in any of the step sequences they had. Really it was just the jumps. And I don’t think it was that her head was elsewhere in this competition, it’s just that her growth spurt took away her consistency.

4 the first time!!! ( in all video s) that she s not doing good one of her jumps....

She missed some jumps, but they were still beautiful. They had great unisons, smooth fast skating, grace and passion.

In My Sergei, she was having a hard time to adapt to her late growth spurt(1989-1990). She feels like she was starting to learn to skate again for the first time. She also mentioned that both of them were getting tired from the amateur programs which is why they decided to switch to pro after.
