Bought an Ekster Parliament wallet back in September, sit on it daily and the box has not changed at all compared to when I originally got it. Trigger still feels nice months later of daily use. Would recommend!

I'm pretty sure that I'm not the only one who thought of Dango wallets when you showed us the metal plate. I think it was a great idea for Ekster to use that design concept as an alternative to leather, or to just using the elastic band by itself. Using a different color for the plate adds to the visual appeal too. Dango + Ekster = Dankster

They should make a larger version that can hold about 10 cards in the box. 6 cards is not enough.

Agreed. Other makers like SECRID provides stacked versions, while not very aesthetically nice, solve the card problem.

The back plating is supposed to be used to hold cards as well. I can fit 8 cards in the plate comfortably, much more than the main compartment

I know I'm a little late to this. But I've been looking into these types of wallets because I've seen how groove life's wallet are becoming popular. For this wallet specifically, do the cards come out easily when held upside down? Or like say I have the wallet upsidedown in my pocket, would the cards slip out? Especially if I don't have the full capacity filled inside the box? Love to know what you think.

Good review was into the metal wallets but I didn't like the way they felt in my pocket I like leather the patina and smell of leather and the way they conform to your pocket no bend in the box and metal wallets

I am a fan of box wallets but I find when exposed and not wrapped in leather..they get scratched and dinged easily

Good point and yes, mixed with other sharp items in the pocket that will happen. I never marry a metal wallet with anything else in my pocket for those reasons.

I got this wallet a while back and was very disappointed. I carried it around only for a couple weeks, I dropped it a couple times in that time - I'm clumsy - and the card raising mechanism just broke. I had to fight a bit to even get the cards out of that slim aluminium slot. Taught me to not buy a wallet with a similar mechanism again, which could also break.

I don't know, I think if I was going to go with an aluminum wallet, I think the XSTO would probably be the way I would go. The lack of moving parts would make me feel more secure in longevity and I just don't like the whole strap thing.

I just recently got this on Amazon but the trigger gets stuck whenever I bring the cards up. Is it supposed to do that? It also doesn't feel smooth at all.

Another good review. I am hesitant whenever cash is stored in a band because of my perception that things will slip out from under the band or the will band fail. Is there any validity to that perception of this one? The capacity of the box itself is enough for my card carrying needs, but some places I go prefer cash hence the hesitation regarding the band.

I did a carry test of the Ekster Senate which is very similar with a backplate. I stored 6 additional cards and cash folded and never had an issue with contents slipping or falling out.

The band has little rubber nubs on the side that hugs the holder. Keeps both it and objects from sliding.

Do the cards in the ejector fall out if the wallet is held upside down and shook lightly?

No, not at all. If you apply good force to it, then they will begin slipping out, but for normal use, even dropping it, they stay inside.

Have the Senate with leather. The leather edge trimmings began to release and dangle from their remaining fixture after a couple months of daily use. Really crappy. Ekster replaced my wallet but I haven’t used the replacement yet - pretty sure the same issue will arise after regular use. Saving it for occasional use with suit. The metal version should ’solve’ the problem of leather trimmings losing their adherence.

@@walletopia As you yourself detailed, I also found myself fidget-clicking my Senate more often than not in queues or meetings - it still operates smooth as silk. And the elastic band is still in tight shape. Still love the wallet and their customer service was top notch.

Are you doing a carry test on the Aluminum Ekster soon? I was wondering how the stuff held under the back plate stayed in place. Also does it shift a lot while getting in and out of your pocket. I also heard it scratches easy. It looks incredible, but if it will be scratched like crazy soon after buying, I won't waste my money. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Love the channel!!!!

I haven't yet, but I did do a carry test on the Senate late last year. I plan to do a carry on this one for the reasons you mention. It will scratch. I've had to be careful with all the metal wallets I've carried so as to not put anything that could scratch it in the same pocket. A bit of a pain, but it goes with the territory. When I carried the Senate I had no issues with the backplate and it worked like a charm. Nothing fell out and the flexibility of being able to put additional cards, cash, receipts, etc in there was awesome.

It's very think compared to their regular models so it's the best of their line up in that regard. How it looks? Like metal box, but it's not super bulgy.

This is on sale for 30% off right now, I got it for $55. I know I said I would only use airo wallet but I couldn’t help myself this was too sexy to say no to at that price haha. I still think the senate might have been a better buy though as it’s leather and might age better than this one.

@@rickyhuynh2170 The airo is amazing when it comes to being virtually invisible and having no footprint. If I’m wearing some skinny or super slim fit jeans I’ll use my airo waller to avoid that wallet bulge. But this wallet is super eye catching and stylish so I use it if I’m wearing a jacket or a coat and can put it in one of those pockets. It’s hard to compare the 2 since they’re apples and oranges but I think both are fantastic

Disappointed with this wallet so I returned it. The metal where cards load was too sharp. Worried about ripping my pockets. I returned it and bought an excellent alternative, a Secrid mini-wallet. Very happy with my choice.

Yes, roughly the same size (in the US), but no, I wouldn’t try and put it on the box, that’s why the plate on the back is so useful.

No, there are felt runners on both sides to prevent them from falling out. But if you try and force them out, they'll eventually fall out.

That's the interesting part about the rating. The capacity is based on the design of the wallet, not compared to other wallets that aren't like it. And the better looks? That's based on the beholder, it's a personal thing so I leave it out of the metric.

This company is sneaky! They like to advertise huge sales and discounts but it is never a sale because they raise the prices to whatever the discount saving is. I've been eyeballing the aluminum for a while now and they send me emails all the time for discounts is how I know this goes on. Idk why but this makes me want to stay away. Not to mention I did buy the senate years back and the plastic push button broke and the solar card finder didn't last a year. Be aware!!
