Rear shocks need to be longer they bottom out too quick and makes the rear of car too bouncy

It’s a trailing arm. You can mount it anywhere along the arm to change the leverage and travel on the shock. Unfortunately, bypass shocks have their weakest rebound control at max compression. Rebound helps tremendously with reducing the suspension unloading that causes bucking. This is why I like progressive link suspension as the shock gains leverage at full compression and losses leverage at full droop. I’m surprised we don’t see advanced suspension designs, like heave spring / damper setups using progressive rockers or links.

@@allmotorhash valving sets the stiffness. Larger shocks have more oil capacity that takes longer to build heat and more surface area to dissipate the heat that was built up. The shock will move slower, ie 1” of shock travel moves the wheel 2”. If anything that makes the shock weaker having mechanical leverage against it. You can set it to be as stiff or soft as you want.
