William Gomez was my father, a talented classical guitarist and wonderful composer! I miss him dearly but his music will live forever.

I'm so glad I came up with your comment. After hearing this version of Ave Maria I wanted to know more about the composer. I was surprised I couldn't find much information about William Gomez. Jaime Lomeli ..... I love the William Gomez version of this and Elina definately does it justice. Just a beautiful rendition of this classic. I happened upon this version while researching Amira Willighagen the fine young Dutch soprano. She performs an incredibly powerful rendition of this in a church setting with minimal accompaniment that is definitely worth a look. Quite remarkable for one so young.

Wonderful! Elīna Garanča is the best mezzosoprano of our times. I love her splendid, colourful voice. Listening to this "Ave Maria" by William Gomez makes me cry!

Elina garanca ist für mich die schönste u begabteste Mezzo - Sopranistin., ein ausgesprochenes Ausnahmetalent. Mein schönstes Erlebnis ich hab sie im "Bistro in Baden Baden", (nach einem tollen Konzert) angesprochen U sie war super nett. Ich habe zu ihr gesagt "Sie sind eine Göttin", sie schaute mich an U sagte mit ihrer herrlichen Stimme "Danke". 💕 Mein Name ist Maria Emerich

Interesting, and Aleksandra Spicberga is a young Latvian teenager who has sung this very well too. With Inessa Galante, seems that Latvia produces some great singing talent

In my eyes this is the most beautiful Ave Maria that was ever written I simply love to sing this or listen to it. A pitty that there is no music score for voice and piano in wich the orchestra part is notated. I looked everywhere but couldn't find any...

Quando si dice una cantante brava e preparata.....la canta benissimo perché riesce a tenere morbida l'emissione e sempre in risonanza. La difficoltà di questo brano consiste proprio nel mantenere l'emissione leggera e morbida nella seconda strofa, dove la nota acuta precedente si salda alla tessitura alta successiva obbligando a un imposto sempre ben sostenuto. Si può forzare facilmente e perdere la dolcezza necessaria all'interpretazione.

Yo conicia a William por ser el padre de un gran amigo mio. El toco en Gibraltar con Paco De Lucia, eran grandes amigos. La verdad qe ni la version de esta cancion ni la cantante tienen desperdicio alguno. Pura magia y un recreo al oido.

It's like she stays all the time singing in chest voice but that seems impossible if she is not a high voice?? If she is doing some kind of change or mixing then she hides that perfectly.
