This is the full length version of "El Tango De Roxanne" from Baz Luhrmann's Moulin Rouge, with Satine's "Come What May" interlude. I tried to clean it up as much as possible while still keeping the integrity of the song in tact. I've always hoped they'd release a more accurate deluxe version of the soundtrack, until then please enjoy my work.

This scene is phenomenal, but what impresses me the most is how the music just embodies how jealousy feels. The screeching violins, the passionate tango, Ewan’s enchanting voice singing words of pure heartbreak. It just reeks of jealously and lust. They put this together so spectacularly.

Also, while Aaron Tveit has a better voice than Ewan McGregor, his singing doesn't have the brandy-soaked, nicotine-stained character of Jacek Koman. The song just doesn't work as well on stage as it did in the film, and one reason for it is because they turned it into a solo number.

I love that The Duke sings at the end because it makes the words have a completely different meaning. When Ewan was singing, the words were conveying a feeling of genuine heartbreak and jealousy. When The Duke sang the words took on a feeing of anger and lust, but still jealousy.

Hearing this, I can picture the entire gut wrenching scene… the most intense in the entire movie. The music and singing are both as powerful and impactful as the visual imagery. Can’t watch this scene without being genuinely heartbroken for Satine… doing only what she believes she must, enduring a lifetime of powerlessness and abuse. Christian’s singing and love for her are so beautiful but his jealousy throughout the movie, while understandable, is selfish. Such an epic masterpiece in every way.

This song and scene is an exemplar of what to do with an pre-existing song and completely transform it into a beautiful evocation of the emotions and atmosphere of the particular moment. It’s the benchmark for what all jukebox musicals should aspire to, to make sure the lyrics are telling the story and expressing emotions experienced by the characters but also the musical arrangement itself is heightening them.

All I know is get away from most movie adaptations because they usually ruin the source material except for a few exceptions like Sweeny Todd and Tick tick...Boom. P.S. @@micahschannel thank You! The First line was the difficult one, along with the part of "love Is for the highest bidder". Thanks again! I'm trying ti create and acrobatic show on this music and I'm intended ti start by speaking that words, then a short dance, and then I'll start the double routine on aerial silks with my partner. So you gave me a big help! 🙏🙏🙏

WHY DO PEOPLE KEEP MENTIONING EWAN'S NAME BUT KEEP FORGETTING JACEK KOMAN!!!???

because he's lesser known unfortunately. But the rasp of his voice in contrast of the silk in Ewan's is a beautiful mix and there should have been more of Jacek solo and together with Ewan.
