I didn't get music from radio because that's about the time that radio went to crap. To hear anything good, you had to sift through a lot of garbage. No thanks.

And to be honest a lot of bands like Elastica and Suede were influenced to a degree by Ziggy era Bowie and Bolan as well as later post punk bands like Wire, Magazine, The Stranglers, etc.

@@michaelcottle6270 Influenced is incorrect. I believe that the the lead singer admitted in an interview for Q magazine that she stole the song because she loved the album Pink Flag. I believe that Elastica or their label settled the case out of court when the EMI lawyers paid them a visit.
