Working on left elbow pointing at target at address, plus low takeaway, which helps with my iron play

good stuff. My instructor has me working on exaggerating the right elbow bend at address because I have a tendency to straighten both arms at impact. Cheers!

I have the right arm flexed and it covers my left arm from DTL. Need to relax this a bit. Thanks.

Ian. Is the left upper arm actually resting on the upper chest, or just the pectoral muscles? You don't talk about the width of the elbows at address. Any thoughts? Light15

I would not encourage that, my preference is for the lead elbow to look more at the target, I feel it is easier for player to get left hand on the club correctly.

What about backswing? I tried single plane and felt like it was having me swing inside and under plane.

If you mean one plane, then you must make sure the arm plane matches the tilt of the shoulders, so you may need to bend forward a little more at address. Hard to give you an exact response without seeing your swing Thanks for watching

@@IanClarkGolfAcademy What do you mean matching arm plane and shoulder tilt? I'm not understanding. Do I bend forward at my hips or are you talking about side bend? I just want the simplest swing possible. I'm 6 ft 2, 260 lbs with long arms.

@@salihalexanderesq.4084 imagine looking at your backswing from the down the line view, at the top of the swing your left arm would be on same plane as your shoulders, thats a one plane backswing. Email me a video of your swing and I will take a look for you, ian@ianclarkgolf.co.uk
