The double phrase "Ad Rosam Per Crucem - Ad Crucem Per Rosam" refers to the "coincidentia oppositorum", the harmony of opposites, the gathering of the rose and the cross through the imitation of Christ. This is very deep. Why can't there be more serious chants like this. All to often so called spiritual music is nothing more than sweet,fluffy non sense. It's useless. This on the other hand is timeless. Words really can't describe it.
