The Early Learning Communities (ELC) project understands the incredible power that rests in parent engagement. ELC efforts focus on school districts going to the parents, where traditionally school districts have revolved around parents coming to them. ELCs build a high level of trust and communication with parents of children attending ELC classrooms. The engagement of parents and interactive communication translates into high quality experiences for families in preschool environment. A school superintendent, a Head Start director and an ELC coordinator share important ideas about parent involvement within the ELC project.
