I've been using my Elcan specter DR 1 to 4 with this red dot on top for the past year and a half. If hard use is dropping the rifle a lot then I used it lightly. Works good for me.

You have the older 1/3N model. The model I have is the newer 2032 battery and the mount fits great on the elcan. However, I agree with your review that the Made in China and the fact the foot print is unknown are the two biggest negatives on this particular thing.

Didn’t you have any problem attaching the mounting plate to the elcan itself? Where the mounting plate attaches (2 holes) did you have to back out any set screws that were in elcan before you attached the mounting plate? I ask because I want to use a reptilla mount with an Aimpoint T2. I want to mount it and it looks like there are some set screws in the elcan mounting points (2x) but I’m not 100% on it. Just want to verify.

Okay I actually opened up my xoptek reddot off the mount and mine has 4 holes, not 2 like yours. I'm going to see if my RMR is compatible with it or not. Edit: I just read on the Armament website that the mount actually fits a Docter/Insight sight as well as their Xoptek one. Very interesting changeup. Maybe you can look into swapping your mount off by asking them?

How’d you remove your set/blank screws in your elcan? No idea what type of head to use. Wish it was just a flat head..

OH CANADA not you too Eh? Wontons cooked in Beer just might be tasty you hoser. I am a fan of Holosun and have been pretty tough on mine. I don't think I've ever handled an Elcan but would like to see how they compare to other competitors. Good info. I didn't realize Raytheon Canada is the manufacturer. I used to work for Raytheon in another life.

I’ve heard people say that this is their favourite optic, but at the same time I guess the support for mounts is lacking...? Maybe an update video but I don’t have the money for one. Really think the Meprolight MRO Pro would be better.
