That's fine. Alot of the best gear is from running and fucking around and experimenting. Here's a example. I found this charm that boost most of my stats but increases the amount of damage I take. Threw a small and brief experiment against a Kendrick soldier with a sword and torch. I tested with and with it against the same attack and discovered its about 5 percent more damage taken. In summary just fuck around. Trying to search everything is going to end your game play quicker.

Pretty sure, that was the joke :) Mike is only 2 hours into the game, Andy is significantly further. Mike may enjoy Soulsborne but doesn't mean he's and expert, or that he's even finished any.

You can coop the dungeons, but coop zones are highly compartmentalized. Need to enter the cave solo, then summon inside.

7:00. This battle made me feel questioned. For those that don't know. From soft put a handy feature for when distinct enemies that may be hard to find to critical strike area. They made it to were there's a bright orange glow where there weakpoint is when staggered so you know where to activate the critical strike.

i can not believe two game youtubers in the business for over a decade didnt hit the bright glowing orange bit when the enemy was stunned. they made the fight about 10x longer.

Its always been finicky if you dont know to lock on and walk *exactly* close enough. They made it better than ever, but yeah its easy to miss a backstab or critical

@@CodaBlairLucarioEmperor If you swing at the area that's critical available it does not take more damage and there's few weapons that do more damage outside a critical strike and in most cases its on enemies like trolls.

@@bustinarant He was charging a heavy so he new what he was doing because critical are a whole different imput and to hammer that home he finishes the fight with a critical so he knows how to do them, he just refused to.

It makes me so incredibly happy that people who never played a souls game ever are genuinely having fun playing Elden Ring. No better feeling than seeing others enjoying the things i enjoy. Also idk if all the tips and tricks videos have mentioned this, i havent watched any, but ENGAGE WITH MESSAGES. Leave messages and rate messages, doesnt matter good or bad, any appraisals to a message gives the writer an instant heal. Lost count the number of times i have been saved from a killing blow from a boss in a souls game thanks to someone rating my message. Rate messages, it helps people out.

On the same note, if someone places a note trying to get you to kill yourself, or saying something really unhelpful, do not disparage it. The game only tracks how many people have rated a message, not if it is good or bad. If you say a message is unhelpful, everyone else will see that as you saying it's helpful, and the message writer will be rewarded. I know this is kind of a mean spirited tip, but seriously, if someone sees a note telling them to jump off a cliff and it's got over a thousand ratings, they'll probably think it's actually helpful and wind up losing runes. Don't feed the trolls.

I absolutely love that Andy is double-handing the Twinblades and refusing to use a shield. And it's kind of unreal hearing him school Mike about rolls and i-frames after watching them all these years. Please make this into a series, if you can.

If you're having trouble, or you're scared of Margit, explore Limgrave. Theres a cave in the large canal that runs through the middle with a minor boss fight against ya boi, Patches. Beat him most of the way, he gives up and if you spare him, he sells you stuff! One of the items he sells is a Shackle, which stuns Margit and pins him down, letting you get some solid hits in! Also, you can get the Twinblade in Limgrave- just go to the Dragon Burnt ruins, (the big place right down in the little swamp off to the right of the starting area), and go into the kinda closed off building to the far right. Jump over with your horse, go down the stairs, and get yourself that sexy Darth Maul weapon! It's very big on DeX tho, so keep that in mind. Good luck!

It's also worth noting that there are several churches on the southern isle of Limgrave that have Sacred Tears in them, which will let your flasks heal more on each chug. Also the flask of wondrous physick, which is a reusable, customisable buff.

I honestly don’t know what I love most about this.. Andy and Mike pairing up against the unknown, Andy the furled hero of the people and his ruthless darth maul getup. Mike and Andy absolutely walloping the octopus without the backstab for most of the fight. The very real max payne and mob boss son vibes.

Remember guys, if you kill Margit, tree sentinel, and tibia mariner, you will be locked out of co-op for that entire region. Save one of those for last, once you think you’ve done it all. Also you can help each other out to do dungeons but you have to be summoned inside said dungeon. Pick up the gold flowers to craft co-op furling fingers too. Keep in mind that you are only susceptible to invasion when co-oping, and that whoever you summons weapons level and player level go to the summoners current levels. Feel like knowing this makes the co-op experience a lot more enjoyable.

@@rudygb17 I'm not sure. I thought you could summon but they just dissappeared once the boss was dead. I don't play them, much less in co-op. Also, the dungeons are different areas with their own bosses so you probably can summon in them. Also, maybe if you havrn't killed the one riding the horse at night it could still count.

I love the game but I wish they let you claim grace sites, clear dungeons and loot chests in coop, it's pretty annoying to have to leave and rejoin anytime you want to make progress on the map and just takes away from the fun of exploring with friends. There's not alot you can in coop but just kill things

If you two hand the sword while not using the shield Mike you do higher damage and gives the opportunity to use two hand attacks which I think do EVEN more damage, useful for example when stabbing a horrific tentacle ball in its barnacle covered rear

I feel like I should quickly mention that if you aren’t dealing a lot of damage with swords, try using a weapon that does strike damage. A mace and whip are good examples of weapons to use

I still struggle with Margit sometimes but I beat Godrick on the first go. Margit is a pretty tough first boss in terms of move set, varied attacks, etc.

Did someone watch eurogamer's elden ring for dummies video? Not that I can say anything, I'm about 90 hours in and I just beat Godrick and Renalla because I was too scared to fight them until I was almost level 100 and had upgraded my weapons as much as I could. Really wish Jane would stream a playthrough of this game with Mike.

Attacking the land octopi’s beak will destroy them, it’s a bit risky bc of the tentacles but you also do massive damage. I’d love to see Luke, Andy, and Mike team up for Radahn lol
