@@SkyRevan90I think that depends, if you abuse using different weapons and and spells from different builds for your single character thats when it's no longer a build anymore, but if you specialize in just one thing (lightning, bleed, Magic, etc etc) even at lvl 200 it can be still considered a build. Obviously when you have every stat at 99 it's no longer a build but even at lvl 200 (Even at 230 which is my current lvl) you are still tied up to a single way of playing without using spells from different classes. I am lvl 230 and all my points mostly are on faith and dexterity and the damage I make is no different from a lvl 150 character

Just a tip. Golden order seal is now better to use for faith and dragon lighting. It's infant scaling outranks the boost from gravel and will give even more damage in the long run. My and my buddy tested this yesterday.

Eh, Golden Order Seal scales with Faith and Intelligence (as well as requiring 17 in both those stats to wield), so one would have to have a good amount of points in both Faith and Intelligence to get the most out of it, and even then, it would not be good for Electrify Armament and/ or Vyke's Dragon Bolt, as weapon buff Incantations only scale with Faith (weapon buff Sorceries only scale with Intelligence). This build only has 9 in Intelligence.

@@Wylyth-nr3hq but to use sorceries u need a staff. Seals can't use the intelligence scaling because they aren't using sorceries. Which means intelligence is useless when using the seal. So those points u would use for intelligence goes into the faith points meaning u get plenty of faith to deal good damage. Now technically dragon seal can reach the same incant scaling with adding to faith AND arcane but realistically if ur using anything other the dragon spells then the dragon seal would be a waste cause of the points u need in arcane to get the incant scaling to even come close. Incant scaling and scaling with a certain stat are two different things.

@@crimsonfury-yj1zi Not sure about seals that scale with Faith and Arcane, but seals and staffs that scale with both Faith and Intelligence DO in fact affect the Incantation/ Sorcery scaling, and you will get the most out of them from spending points in both of those stats. Also still would have to put points into Intelligence to use the Golden Order seal. While this build uses no Intelligence and has it at the bare minimum of 9. A better choice for seal would be the Finger Seal, as it has the highest pure Faith Incantation scaling at 65 Faith.

What I'm saying tho is that seals only use incantations. For something to scale with sorcery it has to be capable of casting sorceries. Seals can not cast sorceries which means they do not have anything to do with intelligence. Now for other weapons faith and intelligence play a part in them(staffs excluded as those only use sorcery scaling) but seals are only incantations which only scale with faith.

@@Wylyth-nr3hq now the sword of night and flame is a weapon that scales with both faith and intelligence because it is capable of casting both types of spells as a weapon art. Of course most weapons aren't as blatantly obvious as to what stat of magic they scale best with but In terms of staffs and seals the only use one or the other. Aside from the dragon communion seal which use faith and arcane it still uses incantations and not sorceries. That one's incant scaling rises more with the arcane stat over faith

I would recommend using the guardians sword spear with keen thunderbolt ash of war. Also duel gravel stone seals.

Looks like a very fun build, I may try this after my Juggernaut (which is so much fun -> basically str/end/vigor and a little faith build with Great Stars+Icon Shield+max regen and lifegain, the high poise+hyperarmor+greatshield+healthonhit is surprisingly strong).

Nice one Balrogx. I took inspiration from from your previous lightning vid for most of my NG+3 playthrough - very versatile. I had been a purely malee player for most of my previous playtthroughs so having to switch incantations took some getting used to, but once I had that sorted it was a breeze.

I mean i know I know, it;'s a samurai. But can't sleep on Bolt of Gransax! Or Dragonscale Blade since it's also a katana if you will. Or Dragon King's Halberd. These are some of the lightning options, there's a few more but these are a few of the more notable ones.

So from what I can see most faith builds don’t tend to get to access their “faith” parts until like 25 hours into the game :/ still super cool just a grind haha. Gonna start w Dex and then pump stats into faith as I get incantations

A great lightning weapon that nobody knows because it is suposed to be Str weapon is the Watchog Greatsword. With lightning infusion +10, this thing gets 238/238 dmg and B scalling in Dex. Use with Lightning Slash AoW to buff with lightning damage, golden vow, howl of shrabriri (that buffs both phys and lightning dmg) and every other buffs like talismans etc and wreck everything in fronth of you. It's a "str" type of weapon to dex builds that focuses on lightning dmg, and what is incredible in this build is that both phys and electric portions of the dmg scales with this amazing B dex scalling. The only downside of this is it need 30 str to wield (20 if two handed), as this weapon is originally intended to go into Str builds. I really don't remember another weapon that's when infused with lightning receives B scalling in dex besides daggers and this weapon, but corrects me if I'm wrong about this. Edit: This build is heavilly focused on Dex, u can go all up to 99 dex, put sufficient points in faith just to golden vow and howl of shabriri, the rest goes on Vigor, Endurance and some in Str to wield the weapon. Another thing u can do is swaping the Lightning Blade AoW if u don't mind the 85 lightning damage to a more useful damaging AoW, or even another buff that goes wild too like Cragblade or Royal Knight's Resolve. Edit 2: Just don't forget u will be a little squish because of how Howl of Shabriri + Lightning Scorpion Charm works together to fuck your absorption, but u can negate it a little with Golden Vow + Leaden Hardtear + Greatshield Talisman, or swap Golden Vow to Uplifiting Aromatic and/or Leaden Hardter to Opaline Hardtear to get 2 free hits. If u don't go agressively all-out-attacker u can swap Howl of Shabririr (that needs a lot of investiment in faith) to Flame Grant Me Strenth, but remember u will lose 5% extra dmg in phys and 25% in lightining; the last thing u can do is "oh, I don't need absorbtion I will never get hit" and put bloodboil aromatic in your build, fuck the investment in faith and go crazy berserk with +30% phys cmg.

I'm trying to make a pvp version of this build at lvl 158 should I get 60 vigor 55 dex or 56 vigor 60 dex or should I go full glass cannon and have 50 vig 70 dex? Also what should I replace with bestial sling? I'm thinking either flame grant me strength or golden vow.

Just curious why the 2nd Katana is needed? If you’re just applying electrify armament on the main one you could have a seal in the offhand or in my case the Bolt of Gransax.

Power stance using the same type of weapon I believe makes you deal more damage because your hitting with both weapons at the same time plus your dealing double bleed and have plenty talismans and other lightning buff. Faster ttk than single wielding a weapon. U can't power stance two different types of weapons .. your swings will be slower than single wielded swings. Do what's best for you though.

For instance, using the double slash AoW when two handing a single Nagakiba, buffed with lightning, would likely outdamage L1 dual wield attacks from two nagakibas (1 buffed, other unbuffed). What makes dual wielding so strong is often the running or jumping attacks hitting fast and multiple times, which make them excellent for bleed or frost builds.

When I first started my character I chose the magic dude with 14 int/14 dex and 6 faith, planning to run a lightning build but I don't want to start over again. Any suggestion? Is it worth going for the golden order seal with at least 17 int and dump the rest into faith? I'm still confused, the gravel seal is weaker than the golden order seal at a certain split right? Need clarification ASAP lol

Should I use wretch for this build and is this build good for pvp? Also is this the best build for a dex hybrid or is there another build that's better?if so what class for that one also.

Use a Stat calculator to check but Wretch is rarely the optimal choice for any build but rarely the worst choice either(for example, Astrologian would be worst for a non-Int Str build). There is just alot of wasted points so some classes will level to builds a bit earlier(2-5 or more levels sooner). Wretch is only "best" for SL 1 runs or characters you think you'll respec often.

Hey brother, i would plan to at least get to dex and faith softcaps. So dex will be close to 80 and faith be 60 or 80 too if you have the poinst to get to 80, if not 80 dex / 60 faith will do if you are going to use the swords more than incantations... if you are doing more incantations than swords.. go 55 dex and 80 faith . And to answer your question... the last 2 faith incantations soft caps are 60 and 80, so if you have faith around 50 its not going to be weak but not as powerful as 60 or even 80 Hope this helps.. if not, you can comment back any time. @Balrogx what’s your take on dual scythes, one with raptors of the mist other with thunderbolt of it works haven’t checked lol. Get it lightning enchanted and cold with blood or occult, maybe it will work or sword dance in place of raptors but I like the idea of dodging bosses attacks as well.

If someone knowledgeable could respond it would be greatly appreciated, is it really worth it to put that much into dexterity and faith with the diminishing returns from the soft caps. I’m going a Dex/faith build, but I would also really love to be able to use some of these weapons that I won’t meet the requirements for, whether due to a lack of str, int, or arcane.

Another question, what does the Erdtree seal on the main hand behind the Nagakiba do in this build? I have it but I also have the gravel stone seal. I don’t understand how the Erdtree seal is used here.

@@Neolastat It’s there when you need to cast from the main hand. Basically on horseback, you can cast lightning spears etc. And it has 0 weight. I’ve seen people cast ancient dragon lightning with the erdtree seal while having gravel stone on the left hand, I don’t know if that affects anything, but that’s another possibility

I'm sorry but to anyone planning on using this build - at level 100 and above you NEED at least 55 Vigour for both PvE and PvP. In the first playthrough, let alone NG+, you're going to be one or two shot by a lot of enemies in late-game areas.

@Satoru Gojo it is a decent build yes. Follow his guidance if you're leaning more towards a Lightning-infused melee with Incantations only as a back-up or ranged option. Just remember this - Elden Ring isn't like previous From games. The Lightning infusion in this game scales purely off of Dexterity - not faith. If you want to know more about a possible build for yourself just reply here - I can layout a blueprint for you.

@Satoru Gojo if you wish to focus on Incantations then you're better off prioritising your Faith stat. If you enjoy buffing your weapons, in this case with the Lightning Buff Incanation, I suggest you meet the minimum stat requirements for whichever weapons you use then pump your Faith with the rest of your stats. Just ensure this: between level 40 and 60 - 30 Vigour at least. Between 60 and 80 - 40 vigour at least. Between 80 and 100 - 50 to 55 Vigour. Anything above 100 and you're gonna need to meet the hardcap at 60 Vigour. Trust me you'll need this high health pool because everything in Elden Ring just smashes your HP.

Also, don't worry too much about which weapon you wanna use and which armour sets. Just go into the game and enjoy it. However if you DO want to main this build then follow my advice.

i tried the build, only change is im using malenia sword and 1 nagakiba. The lightning spells and damage seem worthless. Maybe because this video is 3 months old, but the damage output from my testing, with 50 faith tells me its not worth using any of lightning spells. Its damage just too insignificant.

I’m still running this build and the damage is the same. Make sure you’re charging your spells and using all the buffs he shows in the videos along with the armor, it should give you the same results. Tested this today.

Lightning = high FP cost...which I really don't like...the lightning infusion is great on Nagakiba though.

I stopped at NG+6 and for every video I start at NG+6 again but I should be like NG+15 or more if I count all my play throughs

@@dogu_vn7851 thanks for your kind words. Actually I set the build up at the end of NG+5 to upgrade what’s is needed and then when I’m happy with it I start the NG+6 and start trying it with bosses mostly.

Hi awesome build i love samurai with this build of yours .. !! If I may ask you I am also a samurai level 40 but I struggle against almost all mobbs and it is frustrating = ( I do not have a gear build guideline to progress safely in the game while having fun .. @@simonemirani2877 I am going to assume you are new to this type of game, I was too and one suggestion i got that really helped was to get Vigor to 40 as a priority and work on defense as you will probably get hit a lot and having a buffer will help survive mistakes so you can learn from them. Second priority is Endurance to allow you to wear what armor you want and still Medium roll. 3rd is Dexterity as that is what will boost your damage directly as it scales the best with the Uchigatana which I also assume you are using at that level. Other piece of advice is don't rush to the Stormveil Castle right off the bat. Go south and clear weeping Peninsula, there are tons of flask upgrades down there and a easier castle to clear, i look at that area as the real tutorial area. If you can clear Castle Mourn you are ready for for Stormveil. Last bit of advice is don't be afraid of failing, you are meant to die, just try to not lose Runes if you can help it. Bottom out your Runes before you go into boss fights, go out and farm a bit if needed or save your golden Runes to level before you go in if you can....if you are still struggling try a different build, maybe add a shield or go with ranged everyone has different preferences. Very good reply tips. Since you are new get comfortable playing and learning how the enemies attack you so you know when to roll out of damage and when to attack. Attacking all the time won’t work in souls game until you have a Great build. Get your vigor up. And level up always. If you have a tough encounter with a boss. Go explore and level up like 10 levels and face him again. You need to improve the damage of your weapons. Sometimes fighting riding the horse is beneficial, low damage but you can get in and out quickly. Explore EVERYTHING so you can get good armor, weapons , talismans, spells/incantations, tears. Also don’t be afraid to use the physick flask regularly. Also be sure to pick up Golden Seeds so you have more flasks to use.

Yes you only get one from Yura .To get another one you need to play a new play-through or have a friend drop one for ya.

Incantations don’t scale on their own. They scale with your seal, and the seal scales with your attributes. Also some seals boosts certain incantation as well.

@@Balrogx Thanks for that! I was always unsure about how incantations work. I always just use the dragon communion seal because arcane is my highest attribute with jsut enough points in other areas to use some incantations. I didn't know if that was affecting their damage output at all, so thanks again for the info

Just go one naga one uchi Uchi is the better katana, but naga range is preferable, which is why most use it over uchi

Focus on building dex, faith, and maybe some int, while searching for the lightning talisman. I don't think class really matters as much, but I personally would go with the Samurai. You'll get the Uchigatana right away, the stats are pretty balanced and later on, you can always respec!

I tested stats on 150 build and prophet was best followed closely by confessor samurai is bad because of low faith.

Your starting class kinda matters a astrologer will be ten levels less efficient in this particular build that’s like 2 million extra runes you have to spend to have the same stats as a prophet at 150, which is a lot, if your in ng plus 1 or above your starter class dosen’t matter that much as levels after a certain point start losing value
