The Oracle Envoys are inscrutable, providing only enough answers to raise more questions. Even peeling back the curtain, there's not much extra information to go off of, but we can still take a look.

The small versions are labeled as "MoonServant_tibi" in their AI, but the "ti" and "chi" sound are represented by the same kana, ち or チ, meaning it's likely what would usually be rendered as "chibi". The missing "MoonServant_baby" is also called "ユニーク" (unique) in the Japanese character list, which may also imply something more peculiar about it.

I think it's worth mentioning their bubble attacks, and how that might indicate some relationship or shared origins with the clay men in the Eternal Cities. The spell is called "Great Oracular Bubble", the keyword being related to oracles. Here's the description: "Sorcery of the claymen who served as priests in the ancient dynasty. ... The claymen search for lost oracles within their bubbles." Bubbles seem thematically tied to searching, according to this description.

The Oracle Envoy presence in the Haligtree feels fairly evidently- I think at least- a response to Malenia's upcoming godhood ascension during your fight with her. Just as their presence at Leyendell is as a response to your own eventual ascension. Both appear exclusively at the start of their respective areas, and both areas are the only two to end with someone becoming some sort of god. Their former presence in Deeproot is probably in response to Godwyn's ascension to Prince of Death, but as he is already that by the time you arrive, FROM probably decided that their presence no longer made any sense in the area.

They are really similar to the beings that keep the Lovecraftian God "azatoth" asleep with the sound of their flutes. While I always love my lovecraft referenced, I suppose in this case it's more related to christian mythology, where trumpets sound at the time of Christ's return. Quite notibly there is talking about seven trumpets and the horn the big envoy plays has seven openings. Not much into christian belief myself so most of this is pretty muche hear say, but given how many christian references are found in Eldenring I had to bring this up

With how many enemies are tied to a specific faction, I really wish it'd make it so some enemies go neutral if you're with that faction. Maybe by mutually exclusive quest lines. For example, if you're helping Those who Live in Death and have past the point of no return in that quest chain, Tibia Mariners don't attack you. You get their Deathroot for free and they kill mobs hostile to you.

Rather than the Deeproot envoys being associated with Godwyn, and given their prior association with Ranni, I'm wondering if these enemies were slated to appear to the player only after having initiated certain flags in the various ending quests, resulting in more of a dynamic introduction to the story. E.g. Once you marry Ranni, the envoys would appear in the cathedral above, and maybe retroactively around Renna's Rise. Similarly, the envoys may have appeared in the Depths after giving Fia both halves of the Cursemark of Death where she lies at the end of her quest. There are already envoys in upper Leyndell where Goldmask's story ends - and while Dungeater and the Three Fingers are both technically in Leyndell as well, wouldn't it be interesting if there were also envoys in the loadlists for the Sewers/Shunning Grounds?

The Outer Gods are ripe with potential cosmic horror and I expect at least a little more info on at least one of them from future DLC. The scorpion stinger dagger says it's a relic from a sealed outer god of rot, that implies it's a giant scorpion like God that is sealed away somewhere. Unlike something like the Formless Mother, who does not inhabit a physical form and seems to be some dimension of sentient fireblood that Mohg opens a portal to and grabs some to throw at you as an attack. There's all kinds of weirdness to get deeper into, those are just the two outer gods I find are less talked about but I have some info about. I can't imagine they plan for DLC and don't divulge a little info or give us a peak at something. Dark Souls 1 and 3 had some incredible DLC that let us time travel to the past and to the future, showing us things we would have never known otherwise (like where Oolacile was and went or how the numerous ages of fire turn the entire world into a giant ash desert at the end of time).

We wrote a whole lore vid on how they could be connected to the albinaurics but the fact that they drop the white flesh and we're labeled as moon servants pretty much shoots that idea down. Now they feel more like a creature who had their lore separated from their use in-game. Zulie's data dives are incredible.

Lore: They have no legs because they're version 1 albinaurics whose legs don't work Technical: They ran out of time before they could model these guys so they just gave them round bodies that could move with no animation, just like the fire breathing statues in Lost Izalith which also had rounded lower halves with no movement animation

I believe they're related to Lovecraft lore, not Ranni. Azathoth, the main entity in HPL's cosmovision is surrounded by a court of beings which play the flute. Azathoth's main representative and agent is Nyarlathotep and is closely related to the moon, having an important outpost there.

That moment when u just went out to the wall from outer wall grace and seeing the majestic sight of Gransax and the capital with the erdtree, with envoys' horn soundtrack, that was phenomenal for me. Until much later they became annoying wih the bubbles.

I think the dark yellowish spatter may be meant to be fat, since they’re “bloodless” but having spatter is a good visual indicator of an attack landing, they may have gone with this color to indicate liquid fat which looks similar

There is actually a quest relating to them. You get the ashes for a jellyfish spirit early on from Roderika. She calls the spirit "Aurelia" and if you bring Aurelia to her brother in the mountaintops, they will fade away together and grant access to a cellar below. You can also find what is supposedly their graves around there. That is why I assume, that all jellyfish are dead children.
@jungtothehuimang
@jungtothehuimang Жыл бұрын
@@Sinhsseax aaah I see I didn't know about that one that's interesting and also sad. Since you get the spirit ashes from Rodericka and because she is tied to Godrick's lore I guess it would make sense that the jellyfish are the spirits of the children they grafted especially since she refers to them as "the little ones". Now I'm sad for the jellyfish babies.

A note about most Albinaurics. No matter the form, they bleed silver. Whether it be in lore, items, particle effects, or the _splatter textures_ that get tossed on the ground. At first, I thought Envoys were Albinaurics as well, but before I realized the impication of the Bloodless Flesh, I noticed something else; As I killed a few, I realized that the area wasn't caked in silver blood, as with other Albinaurics, so I assumed there just weren't any for some reason. But there _was._ a conspicious area of ground, relfecting light, shaped like the usual blood splatter, right where I just fought one. I'm not sure, it could be just me mistaking a random puddle, but I think these fellas just bleed straight _water._

Also notable in their absence from the Moghwyn Dynasty. On paper, Miquella's presence and Mohg's designs ought to call them out. The fact that they aren't there confirms to me that Mohg's plot for Miquella isn't working and was never going to work.
