Elden Ring - Opening Cutscene / First In-Game Cinematic. Just a quick video showing the starting cutscene while playing Elden Ring.
Any major story spoilers won't be shown on the channel, outside of boss names and boss pictures (except for those with major story spoilers or implications / final boss). If you're worried about seeing an image and names of random bosses during the game then I apologise, but every single other channel covering the game is also doing the same. So it wouldn't make sense trying to avoid posting boss names when uploading these. Will go through all of the bosses with no damage, and post location guides or anything else in between.
For now this is PS5 gameplay, but I'll be moving to PC when it releases on there later tonight (for ease of recording and editing).

Radahn is really cool, but people dont give Morgott enough credit. The dude was not only graceless, cursed, and essentially a pariah, but was able to hold the title of lord of Lyndell and defend it. Man goes crazy.

@@pothl2724 is it even Radahn? Radahn learned magic in his "younger days" to ride his horse, implying that he was already a giant before the Shattering occurred. Honestly it's most likely just outdated concept art. There isn't any mention of Radahn besieging Leyndell either.

@@danieljoseph7188 I highly doubt that this is just some concept art. For one Radahn has a great rune, so at some point he had to have made his way towards Lyndell. This would have put him on Morgott’s shit list since he considers all of the demigods who possess a great rune to be traitors. Also based off the red hair and those gauntlets I’m very sure that’s Radahn.

He did a lot worse. In Japanese Folktales, it's believed that one's soul can be torn out from one's ass. The Loathsome Dung Eater appears to have done that many times in his desire to "curse the world".

I still remember how this opening made me feel as a new player. It tells this epic tale of all powerful demigods, corrupted by slivers of divine power and who razed the lands between in pursuit of more. Then it introduces the tarnished, dead who are brought back to life in hopes that we can restore peace. The chieftain of the only lands worse than the lands between, a man who's brilliance probably refers to his signature golden mask, a necrophiliac, a man literally called the "Loathsome Dung Eater", and Sir Gideon the Know-it-all. And after a long, deafening silence, us. A person so unnoteworthy our name isn't even known. It really gave a feeling of "You are A chosen one, not THE chosen one. You were chosen not because you stand a chance, but because you are the only chance left."

@@jakejohnson718 he prevents them from being reborn in the Erdtree, which may turn them into omen, but I though that was a curse brought upon Godfrey's children. It can't be a permanent death, as only Maliketh has that power, so i guess they do become omen.

Amazing storytelling in my eyes, the essence of a true RPG narrative. You start off not knowing a single thing, until you start exploring, the wonder, the mystery, the self discovery. Then you start NG+ and you find even more to discover. Haven't felt vibes like that since Morrowind.

Honestly because this game tells you nothing everything is basically headcannon, seeing as to how torrent seemingly picked you because you’re just a cool fella and the only other cool fella (vyke, who was the closest to becoming the elden lord) was vyke I just put two and three together and made up some probable bullshit. I’m pretty sure there was some other lore somewhere that I read about vyke that led me to it too.

If Vyke was really the owner, that means that he has some connection to Melina and also Ranni, cuz Ranni knew who Torrent is and Melina gives you Torrent. If we find a connection between them, then your theory is correct but until then it’s just a hypothesis that could have some merit. Oh and I totally get why shit feels frustrating, but that’s how the game is designed hahaha

I really want to know that Hoarah Loux/Godfrey is doing for most of the game Was he just taking his sweet time coming back to the lands between? Or was he just having a nice romp in the background while we smacked everything else around? Also, All of the five renowned tarnished are either an end-game boss fight, or related to an ending. Nifty.

These shorts are dead ass making me want an elden ring show that takes place before the tarnished show up, and the very end of the show is after everything, just before we get there and it fades to black and you just hear “The fallen leaves tell a story” then cuts to the credits with the games main menu theme playing.

I always thought the first part was pretty solid but then they made a mistake not explaining the demi gods more, but mentioning the other Tarnished. I see now those characters and their quests lead you to understand the world more than any opening card could. What an unbelievable studio.

I love how elden ring casually created a character of renowned depravity. The loathsome dungeater. We all laughed at first, but then that first encounter sent chills down my back. I felt as though he could actually reach through the television and kill me.

Endgame lore SPOILERS: Gideon, the not so much All-Knowing as he is the only Tarnished mentioned here who never finds a way to become Elden Lord. Hoarah made it before the events of this game and the other 4 it's up to the player's decisions, if every required quest is completed of course.

I have a hypothesis which (as far as I know) is only supported in this cinimatic. The lands between is a sort of heaven very similar to the western continent in the Lord of the rings. You can see when the narrator tells the tarnished to arise, every one is seen dead except for fia.
