Elden Ring was Game Informer's 2022 Game of the Year, so we're chomping at the bit to play its upcoming expansion, Shadow of the Erdtree. Editor Marcus Stewart got to do just that at a recent preview event, and he sits down with Wesley LeBlanc to unpack his time with the expansion and share new details about the experience.

I got a new game plus character. It's actually way easier (at least in the beginning) since you're a high level and you have access to OP builds. Not really worried about it honestly.

Man, Fromsoft is on a role! First Elden Ring and now Shadow of the Erdtree. It’s gonna be insane to see how Miyazaki tops these two classics! Edit: I’ll admit though that for me, Bloodborne will always be Fromsoft and Miyazaki’s Magnum Opus.

If you used all 17, you might have to go to NG+. There might be larval tears or something in the dlc though. Who knows.

Bloody Wolf was never an actual class, it was a build for the network test. Reminder that in the network test for Dark Souls, you could start as a Black Knight.

Bro from soft keeps getting better the graphics keep getting better their art design keeps getting better their ideas keeps getting better just everything they come out with is better than the last they have been behind other companies when it comes to graphics and certain things but they're really catching up and even improving upon what they were already doing I can't wait till the next game after this DLC but I'm extremely excited for this too I just know that they do another Souls like in the future it's going to be absolutely insane

I hear what you’re saying, and most of it is true and valid, but they are not behind on graphics. They are just simply focusing on gameplay and art design and exploration. Graphics are honestly the most overrated marker in a game. They could’ve easily put together a game with perfect graphics, but it would just take way too long with the game that big.

Not ganna lie dragon dogma 2 is ok but nowhere near the content of this game. Fluidity doesn't come close either. I am almost done with dd2 and I stopped and started playing Elden Ring again and haven't gone back.

@@banditandi5434 I looked at the reviews and thought DD2 was a terrible game. But when I played... I'm too lazy to write why it's beautiful... yes, a small number of enemies, the scarcity of the open world and locations. But for battles and quite realistic mechanics, which are not available in other projects, I want to forgive everything. Elden Ring with its combat system blow/roll after DD2 looks like a joke
