They NEVER fail with character design, wow.

I like how Ranni telling the story is basically, "Yeah, someone stole the rune of death, dunno who did, lol. Also my big brother can kick your butt lmao."

It must have been heartbreaking for Radahn's surviving soldiers to see him going mad and constantly hear his howling, while they are not strong enough to put him out of his misery. It is also a brilliant idea that they advertise the battle against Radahn as a festival, so the participating heroes don't get their reputation tainted for teaming up against one enemy, and at the same time giving Radahn an honourable death.

You can see that Malenia whispered something to Radahn before her final attack. Bet she was saying "I am Malenia, Blade of Miquella." :D

"It happened an age ago, but when I recall I see it true" I bet you do, Ranni. I bet you do.

Took me a moment to realize after malenia stabbed radahn, she also thrust the broken part of the blade into herself so that her blood got into the wound. Gnarly.

Coming back to this after playing through the game, the cinematics are so much more impactful. The Lunar Princess as the narrator, seeing the Omen King lay down his crown, seeing Malenia and Raddahn’s fateful duel and the flower that created that hellhole in Caelid. There are still so many details we haven’t yet discovered from the game, we’ll probably come back to this trailer again in a month from now to see the differences.

How much of a badass you need to be to have the title Conqueror of Stars

No joke, I would KILL for a prequel game/movie/show that takes place during the Shattering. There’s be SO much to explore with that time frame.

1:12 Now knowing the context of Morgott's character and background, this scene hits a lot harder. Considering that it's clearly Godfrey's crown, this is him showing respect to his father, probably the only person who ever gave a damn about him, as well as implying that despite being the ruler of Leyndell he still doesn't see himself as a worthy lord.

1:12 I love this scene. It shows Morgott’s humility, self-hatred, and devotion to defending the Erdtree. It shows how he doesn’t believe he is worthy of bearing the crown of Lyndell, but will defend the Erdtree nonetheless despite his omen curse.

It's interesting how clearly she remembers when the rune of death was stolen. Like almost as if she saw it with her own eyes.

And here I was thinking i couldn't be more hyped for this game.

The lore and atmosphere is so good, because it is written like a real mythology. This is always a sign of a high quality work. It has solid foundations. That's the real deal.

Fun fact: The soldiers and knights that are raiding the capital belong to Stormveil and Godrick the Golden. We can see many wearing the Tree-and-Beast Surcoat and Godrick Knight set.

After 150 hours of playtime. This is hands down the best game I've ever played.

I love how you can never understand shit from the stories of From Software games, and at the same time they are in my opinion the best at world building and lore

Happy 2 Years to Elden Ring! There's so many details in this trailer that are so apparent after playing the game and understanding a lot of character plot-lines: Ranni describing the Night of Black Knives with feigning herself having not been involved is because no one in the story actually knew she was the culprit. Canonically, Rogier discovers this after analyzing the Knife-print of one of the Black Knife assassins and determines Ranni carved the runes for the spell to apply the Rune of Death to the Black Knifes' blades. 0:31 - Most likely after the Black Knife Assassins began fleeing the Capital after having assassinated Godwyn. I counted only 5 Black Knife assassins. Alecto is among them, and the other 4 are most likely the other ones we faced as boss fights (1 in Limgrave, 2 in Altus, and 1 in Liurnia). Meanwhile, Tiche was caught trying to flee the capital and we fight another one leading up to the Queen's Bedchamber that was likely cut down during the escape. There are 2 more in Ordina, totaling in 9--not including the assassins who attack Iji and Blaidd, but they could be the same ones as before since death would not have been re-established in the Lands Between by this point in the game canonically. 1:20 - Morgott laying down his crown and preparing to defend Leyndell. This is clearly after the Sovereign Alliance crumbled, and likely at the start of the second defense of Leyndell, where Margit steps in to defend the inner wall (siege being shown from 1:37). 2:37 - Malenia intentionally allowed her prosthesis to be broken so that she could use both ends of her blade. One to pierce Radahn (who is brought down to a knee), and the other to pierce her own heart--snapping the golden needle created by Miquella, and also to allow her blood to seep into Radahn's wound, infecting him with Scarlet Rot. The activation of the Scarlet Aeonia might have been beyond her control, as we know she needed to be carried back to the Haligtree after the battle. Radahn was disorientated from the Aeona and stumbled off into the Dunes where the player fights him.

Radhan and Malenia fight looked awesome. But now having played the game and understanding what scene that was, I could not help but feel sorry for Radhan. I'll wear his armor with pride.

Wasn't expecting another trailer but holy this cinematic is incredible, man I'm really excited for Elden Ring, I think alot of people are gonna love it.

0:50 This must be when Godwyn's body starts to transform, as it mingles with the roots of the Erdtree and grows out of control resulting in him becoming the Prince of Death. His face can be found under Stormveil as well as Deeproot Depths and this is the primary source of the spread of deathroot, as well as the cause of all undead.

Love it how now that everyone has played the game, the trailer makes so much more sense. 0:00 Ranni tells about the Shattering with the Divine Tower music playing 0:30 The Black Knife Assassins going for Godwyn while having the Eternal City music playing 1:11 Morgott putting down his crown as Last King of Leyndell to 'pick up his disguise' and going to slaughter everyone at the walls while having Leyndell's theme playing 1:35 Malenia's theme starts playing, showing part of the outer walls of Leyndell while the army gets nuked with Spears which can be found ingame as well 2:00 Malenia and Radahn having the battle of their lifetime with Malenia nuking herself to infect Radahn and furthermore all of Caelid with the Scarlet Rot. 3:06 Ranni secretly plotting by calculating that you wanna take the crown.

The animation on Malenia vs Radahn is so gorgeous. I can see a lot of Sekiro inspirations from it too

That last fight scene was absolutely insane, great character design

Remember the first trailer we got an age ago? It seems like some people and me have had an idea of how Radahn and Malenia's fight went, in the minute 1:12 of that first trailer, we can see how Cleanrot Knight Finlay stabs Radahn in some area near his abdomen or chest, then Malenia comes at 2:40 and stabs herself applying rot into the wound Radahn had, then Malenia explodes into the Scarlet Bloom and probably knocks out or incapacitates Radahn for a moment. With both demi-gods almost done for, Finlay retreats, dragging Malenia away from the battle and leaving Radahn, howling at the sky, succumbing to the Scarlet Rot by the end of the first trailer.

They put so much passion into their games. It's truly amazing. I can play a game filled with characters, dialogues and cutscenes and feel like "okay, that was cool". But when I play a fromsoftware game, I journey through the world I don't understand, meet characters I don't comprehend and miss the story that is clearly there, and yet it always becomes such a memorable experience. Somehow it hits harder then the most dramatic stories ever written. Can't wait for this game.

I love the tiny details so much; did you guys notice (which I’m sure you all did) that before the fight begins The Conqueror of the Stars is waiting for her to basically arm herself up before the fight? I don’t know but that just adds so much character to him, I think that’s cool!! They really know how to go give their characters…well, character. Without speaking or doing so. This game is already a legend and it has not even come out fully yet.

Coming back here after finishing the game today to hear Ranni's voice open the trailer... I had no idea of the significance then! Thank you everyone at From and Bandai for your hard work, this game is an achievement to be remembered.

I can definitely see George R. R. Martin’s influence in the story, the conflict looks rich, there is background conspiracy as well, very well done political conflict between the demigods, should spice the story up by a look, I can’t wait to play this and find out

This hits VERY different when you know most of the lore. When i played the game for like 100 hours and watched this trailer again it was still a mystery. Now after almost 1200 hours i feel like i watched a whole different trailer then i did before.
