Any recommendations for a person on SSD who won’t participate in anything constructive to improve their situation? Daily falls, nodding off and constantly dropping things, destroyed her rental apartment’s floor… on and on. MUST live on the upper floor… aaaaand can’t walk on stairs. It’s this constant barrage of excuses and self sabotage. All seemingly to demonstrate how hard things are for her. Me? I can’t understand why anyone would want their neighbors to see them bent over 90 degrees, struggling to take one step at a time, clearly barely able to do it. But won’t stretch or strengthen.. it’s like she WANTS everyone to know how pathetic she is so they’ll give things to her. That may sound mean. But I’ve been observing this and trying to produce solutions to keep the situation contained. She won’t do any of the things I suggest, then someday she’ll see someone on tv do exactly what I’ve demonstrated for her, and she’ll ask me how like it’s brand new. It’s maddening. But we’re at a point where she’s falling every day, and now has a dangerously high heart rate. And simply won’t participate. Doesn’t retain information. Doesn’t know what day of the week it is, if it’s morning or night. She clearly needs to be in a facility where she can be monitored. But would never ever go willingly. Thoughts?
