These videos have changed how I view kindness. I give monthly donations to charities and I thought I was kind. But what makes the Chinese people different is that they are willing to personally spend their time, labour and money to render help, sometimes even talk to the victims and give life advices, whereas I would have thought twice if that means so much fuss. This channel really taught me how to be a better person. Thank you!

I attend a University that has a lot of Chinese people. They invited me for a homemade Chinese lunch with their friends and most of them barely knew me. Another, also related to food; I just mentioned that I was quite hungry (actually, I was just kidding), then one of the Chinese students went out and came back with 2 slices of pizza for me. The point is that I've never experienced such a kind manner and hospitability before not even from my own nation's people. Thus it's also heartbreaking to witness that crazy amount of racism they have to face each day. This is kind of the side of China that media will never show you/us.

I've been to China several times and this genuine care and generosity extends even farther than this video shows. I've seen a group of buisnessmen give up a vip room at a resturant for a mother with a crying baby, I've seen people randomly standing up from their seats on crowded subways so a little kid can sit down, and I've seen a resturant employee sit down with a customer who's semi blind and quietly tell them the entire menu, including all the prices, how long it takes to cook, and which ones would be the easiest to store at home. In America, people need to conciously do little acts of kindness, but in China, it seems more genuine, more about helping someone and THEN having it seen as kind, rather than in America, it's more intentionally doing something that kind so one can feel kind. This isn't saying, at all, that Americans can't extend kindness without carefully thinking it out because I've also seen incredibly and genuinly kind Americans. It's more of noting how in China, kindness is almost more loving, but also much more subtle and normal, as if the kindness is ingrained into the culture, and has become an instinct rather than an intention. The feeling is noticably different, you know, when someone at Starbucks pays for the person behind them vs someone pulling out a fan so an elderly man won't be overheated. It's like in America, people aim to be "good neighbors". Kind and genuine, yes, but still maintaining that sort of distance, whereas in China it's a lot more comfortable, a lot more like treating people like family, caring for a stranger the same way you'd care for a sibling or a parent. Americans are so upfront friendly, "How are you doing?" and "Oh my gosh I love your shirt!" and yet so distant. In China, it isn't normal to be so openly friendly---it's seen as overbearing and awkward, but everyone is still closer somehow. None of this is meant to point out flaws or say one is better than the other. I just find it interesting as a Chinese American just how different my two worlds are, even though the foundational things like kindness and compassion remain prevalent in both. Hope I didnt offend anyone with my 1am evaluation of society :')
@twinklelittlestar12263 жыл бұрын
Kup's Sauser Mencius ( a well-known Chinese philosopher)once advocated this: "Care for my own aged parents and extend the same care to the aged parents of others; love my own young children and extend the same love to the children of others". Chinese call strangers grandma, grandpa, aunt, auntie, sister etc. There are Kind people in America, just the way to approach love is different.

He went to ask for water and most shopkeepers gave him food. Even random people did. That owner even moved the fan for him to sit comfortably and that one lady made her noodles softer for him so he could chew better. Incredible. I am farming in love with chinese respect and culture more and more with every video. I am now addicted to these. The kindness is amazing. I already got 2 people off the street these year. Every winter I pick one or 2 people from the streets and give them housing and find them a job and an apartment. My budget for hosting the homeless is finished, but I think after watching this, I may need to go and get another one to help. Maybe instead of a homeless person i will get a girl i know who has a child, no husband and has lost her parents and lives in a tiny one room apartment to stay with us for some weeks instead, as a mini vacation. I have enough to feed 2 extra people. She will not have to cook, clean or stress up, I will bake cakes for her and her kid, I will buy the girl some clothes and the boy some toys from amazon... and he can play in the snow in my garden with my son, they live in the city and snow is dirty there, I live in a little village, it is quite beautiful and green here. That way she can save up her money she would have spent on food to get a new stroller for her boy who is aging out of the old one. I hope that will be enough. Love from germany you all and much respect to all chinese people reading this. Your culture is amazing ❤❤❤❤❤

@@annalisad thank you so much. I am trying. I have been doing this for 4 years now. I have helped more then 20 people. Not all of them stay for long because some need rehab and that is what I focus on with them first, some of them stay here for longer, but all of them I haven't let go of until they had a home and a job. I have never let one go back to the street. I just want to make people happy, that is my goal. I was always ridiculed for being this way actually. People say I am poor myself so why do I waste money on homeless and drug addicts, and why do i put my baby in danger by allowing strangers in my home? I just dont know whether I am kind or stupid at this point.

@@irenerandazzo4206 Don't let others put you down for all the amazing work you've been doing. Your heart is strong and kind at the same time, this is such a rare trait in these times so please keep doing what you're doing ❤️ The world needs more kind people like you, so don't let others discourage your wonderful effort. Thank you for being strong and kind to people in such hard times, I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers 🤗 Love from a stranger in Ireland ❤️🙏🏻🇮🇪

@@annalisad thank you so much for your words of encouragement. I am so happy there are nice people like you around. I will keep doing my thing how I have always done, people just dont understand the feeling of joy I have when seeing a smile on others face, i just want to be a source of happiness. The girl i wanted to invite will be here on monday. I actually decided to buy her the new stroller already so she can do something better with the money she will save up, i found one on sale on amazon and it is arriving on monday too so she will find it here when she comes and we can use it to go out. I felt bad to let her walk around town with a broken stroller. She doesnt know yet, it will be my welcome surprise for her. I hope she enjoys it. She can stay as long as she wants to relax. She lost both her parents in June and hasn't even had time to grieve properly being a full time single mom, I think I will give her a shoulder to cry on and an ear that can listen to her and most importantly she will not have to lift a finger while she is here, I even ordered some spa stuff like face masks and scrub and hair product for black hair (she is black) so we can have a spa day together, while the children play. She definitely needs that. I wish you all the best and I send you a big big hug. Thank you again and love from germany 🥰🥰🥰🥰
