The way the elderly man fixed his wife’s hair was adorable. Even with Alzheimer’s he wanted to make sure she was alright. My poor heart melted.

Sometimes, they never forget their significant other....and it is really the sweetest thing. I've worked with a few couples that both had dementia/Alzheimer's, and they remembered even after one of them might have passed.

He was very sweet, and I hope it'll not change. My Dad at a certain point did not recognize his wife, my Mom after 40+years of marriage. He'd ask who that woman was. It's a terrible disease, very difficult for the caregiver.

@@jenniferp5916 I've seen it upclose too.. it was my grandma, didn't recognize any of her children.. some days she would tho, sometimes thinking my dad was my uncle and vice versa. horrible disease, i wish i never get it, if i need to die a couple years before so be it. i value my cognitive capabilities a lot, and i can't imagine how bad it must be to feel it slowly going away...

Thepaintrain2013 I had a temp of 106.4 when I was a young kid. Nobody knows what was going on, but I do remember the hatred I felt towards my mother when she put me in a Luke warm bath.

Night watch is really stressful to watch there is so much dramatic music and how they scream and talk loudly and stuff. this show their calm even with a serious case they talk sweetly and keep everyone calm and the music isn't dramatic or anything I like nightwatch buts just such a huge difference from this show

I'm American, I've lived in Rhode Island my whole life. It's very interesting for me to see what ambulance services are like in other places. All of the paramedics in this video seem extremely caring and competent. Wonderful.

My son is a severe alcoholic and I had to just let him go. I will not feed him, house him, pay for his phone, buy him warm winter clothing when he finds himself homeless because he drank away all of his shelter money, or do anything else that puts extra money in his pocket to buy alcohol with. I fully expect to eventually find the police and the Coroner on my front porch knocking on my door early one morning, but knowing it's going to happen won't make it any easier when it does. He hates me because I love him, isn't that sad?

When he snapped his fingers and she didn’t react i started sobbing. My baby had covid and she was not responding and passing out on me. It was the scariest day of my life. I ran into the Er bawling and pleading with doctors.

Here we charge drivers who don’t pull over. We just give the cops the license plate and the owner gets the ticket and points. We don’t even have to prove who was driving the vehicle.

@CO my moms emergency trip was 4.7 miles....$5700. The O2, medications, and treatment she needed were another $4000. Then we got to the hospital. That particular 2 night visit was $26000 not including the Drs fees and medications. That was another $8000. Guess I’m in a highly billable spot....😶

Actually the call is free. And a short rose in BLS can be under 1k, ALS is very expensive. At least in the states they rush you to the hospital, delaying care can kill.

Same thing happened to me last year. My leg started swelling up, and a few days later I started having increasing difficulty getting around. First I would get out of breath walking a couple of blocks to the convenience store, then a day later I was getting dizzy just getting up to use the bathroom. I finally called an ambulance and I spent the next week in hospital. I'd had a blood clot in my leg, it broke loose, and it put clots all over both lungs. They said if I'd gone to sleep, I'd never have woken up again. I'll be on blood thinners for the rest of my life, but it beats being dead. If your leg suddenly starts swelling, _don't_ ignore it.

That must've been scary! Glad you made it, despite having to be on medication. Sudden leg pain with no apparent reason (no injury), heat and swelling can be signs of a clot.

The only reason I knew something was very wrong is that I had a friend named Frank who died of a pulmonary embolism in his sleep in his 30s, and I had read about them as a result. When I told a nurse about that in emergency, she told me she didn't know what my religious beliefs are, but that she thinks Frank was looking out for me.

I'm an American and all I kept thinking watching this episode is aren't the cars on road supposed to stop and pull over for an emergency vehicle? Here you have to get out of the way and stop. I saw cars turning out on the road in front of the ambulance. Scary.

Seriously, the number of times in these episodes the ambulances are actually cut off by vehicles is horrifying. I'm not saying it *never* happens here, but it really seems not to be so much a thing. Even the ones who don't cut them off just don't bother to pull to the side. Around here it's basically like it's choreographed, everybody makes way in a shockingly orderly fashion compared to how drivers usually behave ;) Is it not illegal to fail to make any attempt at all to make way for ambulances over there?

I live in America too but here very few people actually pull over. I’ve seen Firetrucks in the city honking their horn well laying on it at a red light and no one would move til the light changed. The cops don’t care unless it’s them that they don’t move out of the way for and even then barley care depending on where you are. I’ve even had cops almost hit me with no sirens on because they didn’t want to stop at a cross walk and we’re speeding. Yet the county over everyone moves out of the way and cops will literally slam on their breaks if your waiting to cross and make you cross before they go since it’s law. It really depends on where you live on weather anyone moves over for emergency vehicles or not.

Oh no I’m so sorry! I’m so paranoid my mom made us get a landline in our home the Second we had a baby. She was like “ what it you or I or a sitter cannot find their phone??! In a panic what r they gonna do just go out in the street an yell?!” So we have an old school rotary (will work if power is out!) I teach l the kids now and its kind of a riot how they are mystified at first 😁 whew! Feeling ancient! At least they lived the learning.💕 cutie littles.

Yeah it only can pay off if kids know how to call for help if necessary. I remember one call from my active time as a volunteer firefighter where a 5 year old boy saw his grandma unconscious on the ground and after she didnt respond to him he instantly reacted took the phone and called help. He told what happened and his complete adress, even the right floor in the building. (It can be difficult to find out the right door when there are no names or something in a building with multiple apartments.) And he even opened the door for us so that we didnt had to break it open. This all saved his grandmas life.

@@DR-po4ib Fell down, not fallen as in, 'OMG, grandma just fell down.' Or, 'He fell down the stairs.' We might say, "I've fallen, and I can't get up.' (Famous line from a US commercial which is kind of a joke now). In other words, we might say 'fallen' by itself, 'she has fallen', but we wouldn't use 'over' with it, normally. Although an object, such as a vase, we might say, "The vase fell over.' But America is a big place with a mixture of regional language quirks, so I'm sure there are some Americans who might say a person has 'fallen over.' It isn't something I've heard in California.

These paramedics are a godsend. Not only do they help people, but they don’t judge. I suspect they are taught that, which is very hard to do sometimes. I was a volunteer with the Red Cross and the first thing they taught us was don’t judge. It’s hard at first, but then you learn how important it is to the patient as well as yourself. And it helped me feel better about myself. All of these people, paramedics, police, everyone serving the public, we are blessed to have them.

I understand the lady who said she’d rather deal with animals. When it comes down to it, though, I’m rather addicted to dealing with people - I work in child welfare. You learn so much about yourself, not to mention the people you work with. And watching a kiddo go home and learn they are safe there when they weren’t before - priceless. Everybody deserves a safe haven, especially when they are children.

UK ambulances are like mobile outpatient providers. My neighbor needed an ambulance, it took 1.5 hours to get here‼️

This is something I've noticed a lot of people in the younger generations don't really understand...that headstrong attitude about going to the hospital for an injury or whatever. It was part of how they grew up, much of the time...you just get back up and continue on until you can't anymore, as detrimental as that can potentially be. Helping them feel comfortable going to hospital is truly an art form mixed with a lot of understanding.

I wish doctors here in America were like this. These people make sure the patient is calm and ok and they are so kind and positive, here it’s as if they are angry and don’t care most of the time.

That's really unsettling to watch... when the baby stops reacting with her eyes wide open still. I'm amazed at how calm the parents were; even the medics were more antsy than usual. Its interesting; all the different ways that people display shock.

Omg that elderly couple was so unbelievably precious. When he fixed her hair....ugh.....our current younger generation could learn so much from watching these couples who've been together for over 50 years bc they never left each other's side and you know they respected each other way more than younger people do now..... They were beyond precious! I'm 36 and have been with my fiance and father of my 12 and 2 year old children for 15 years. We have definitely had MAJOR, MAJOR ups and downs and trust issues bc of it but we are still together bc we want to put in the work and love means doing that and going through the good and bad together!! Out of my 12 year old sons 6 good friends, he is the only one who still lives with both parents. It's so sad. That couple just made me smile so hard and gave me faith that couples can make it through life and all the journeys we go through together!! 🥰🥰🥰

Babies having babies. She seems like a great mom though. Being a young parent doesn't automatically mean a bad one. I think back to when I was 19 (24 now) and no way could I have handled a child, much less two!

These paramedics are a true blessing ! In the USA they are not as kind and caring ! They judge you right off ! I think they are just precious how they treat people with no judgement just kindness ! The older couple was just precious ! I love watching these videos ! I live alone and have one brother who takes me to doctors and hospital when needed ! It’s scary when your blood sugar drops and no one there or blood pressure goes to high ! I wish I lived over in Uk where people care about us older people ! I’m 62 and so many health problems and no one to talk to or eat with ! Yes I have two grown kids ! They are busy no time for Mum 😢 God bless you paramedics ❤️🙏🏻

Being an addict starts as a choice but then your body gets used to the drugs. You no longer want to get clean, you physically can't. It makes them seriously sick to come off.

When I watched that older couple, I felt pathetic and embarrassed for the way that my generation treat each others on occasion like that’s how real love should be
