I agree. I never really liked rap and then I listened to grime artists like Stormzy and Bugsy and loved it. People need to listen to the political and social context of the lyrics to get it

UK Grime is a beautiful genre for us by us, they speak on the life of living in estates and living in ends and about rising to the top. Alot of people have made a great life from it

Sorta true sorta not. I guess some Grime talks about that but generally Grime just evolved from MCing and wasn’t created *for* anyone and there was never the intention to talk of the struggle or anything. It’s just MCing. Originally mostly battling or party lyrics, sometimes can be deep. But let’s not try rewrite history or bs it to be something it’s not

I said it as simply as I said it. Grime is the name given to 'The Dirt' that the UK artists came from. There is logic in it, you just have to look past the 'Black and White' to see it. Here I'll give you a headstart - Whats the History of Grime? When you answer it to yourself then you'll get the Grey in the middle.

I think the song selection shows a real lack of understanding about Grime. Stormzy's status as a grime artist is controversial as it is. He doesn't rap with a grime flow. If you showed some Giggs, JME, or Wiley, in addition to Skepta, it would've been more representative of the genre.

If you want to introduce somebody to Grime, you MUST show them Wiley.. feels like FBE doesn’t quite know how grime sounds

where was JME he's a proper grime god and you should play Dave he's a bit different to the others but tbh its good to see grime reaching into other countries its been stuck in the uk for too long and these artists need more attention cus they deserve more.
