The fact that people like Lord Buckethead was allowed to stand proves that we have a democracy in this country, something which is denied for some people in the world. We are a free and fair nation and people like Lord Buckethead or Screaming Lord Such of the Monster Raving Loony Party being able to stand for election demonstrate that fact in abundance!

@@njlaz Sure they were, FullFacts are a bunch of lefties lying to people like you. You realise Fullfacts make plenty of mistakes right? Been there so many times and seen where they have to correct themselves. Too late then, people like you already fell for it. The naive and easily fooled left. If you have to consult a fact checker (who aligns with you views) then clearly voting, or thinking for yourself, is not for you. The people saw right through your BS. That's why you were crushed as your policies are utter nonsense. Have fun being in the gutter for another generation. When will you learn? (probably never).

The problem labour had is they overestimated the remain vote by going with another referendum but completely underestimated their leave voters by naively assuming they would still vote for them regardless of their change of position on brexit which completely ignored their promise in the manifesto of 2017.

@@murdershe......7378 I am a middle class person and I certainly respect all opinions if there is a justified reason. I can understand why a lot of people wanted Brexit so Britain doesn't have to pay EU taxes and doesn't need to follow their rules. However this is useless as we earned more from EU trade than taxes we pay and their rules were pretty reasonable. I think people do not understand politics much and it's because the system is flawed starting from the education system. It's why we get people like BoJo and Trump elected and there's great choices otherwise, labor was pretty bad this year but still better than conservative (Tories might as well be for the few not the many) yet lower-class (have the most to lose) vote for them, imo lib Dems were the best but no one ever votes for them. Brexit for the reduction of immigrants is just pure racism. Britain is 95% white and most immigrants help our economy more than a perfectly capable British person sitting at home on benefits (not stereotyping just an example). We need a voting system that works fairly (not Equally) fairly. How come someone who has 2 PhDs has the exact same value as a person at home on benefits? It doesn't make sense. I know a lot of very talented and intelligent people who didn't want Brexit but they are just drowned out.. I am already seeing the effects of Brexit. Products are getting halved in size and doubled in price and the value of the pound fell of a cliff. I still respect people's opinions who have a justified reason but I believe a lot of the public are un-educated and the system is flawed.
@TheAviationistKhizr

@@murdershe......7378 I respect your view, you seem to know what you're talking about and research before you vote for something that decides the fate of an entire nation. Fair play about the racism thing- it's more xenophobic. And it seems you agree with me about the system being broken. The family you are born in shouldn't dictate your success in life, making the rich richer and keeping the rest poor it is a terrible capitalist system and conservatives have a lot in common with it. We should all ideally get the same start in life. I agree, liked this talk. Keep safe buddy

Necroposting here- it's quite significant. Sure, the government didn't swap sides, but the Conservative victory was massive. As the video said, that was Labour's worst election since ***1935*** On top of that, Blair's constituency turned Conservative after 36 years of continuous labour rule And the former third party lost its status, and parliamentary leader, both to the SNP which went from 6to 56 seats, breaking Labour's hold over Scotland. Obviously alot more happened but to sum it all up- yes it was quite important

The general election in the United Kingdom is a bit like a kind of mini American presidential election, don't you think? There are 538 electoral votes in the United States it is necessary to accumulate 270 electoral votes to be elected president, in the United Kingdom there are 659 seats in Westminster, it is necessary to accumulate the election of 330 deputies to have the absolute majority to be "elected Prime Minister". There is a difference that a party cannot always have an absolute majority they form a coalition with the third, but the leader of the party having received the most votes for the post of Prime Minister like David Cameron in 2010... In least the party leader who wins the popular vote is "elected Prime Minister".

Would be nice to deliver now, But keeping corb out was priority. The eu shackles have now loosened n just now need to remove somehow, America n the world cant wait to free trade with us without funding other peoples back pockets. The eu will be very difficult now because they need us just as much!! We shouldn't be bowing down to their beurecrats n leaders. We are our own country thanks , we should make our own decisions ! The country is in a state but now we are seeing a few smiles. Bring on the uphill battle . Short term pain for long term gain :)

Why is it when the BBC talk about the election they always refer to "The Country" when it is actually "The countries". There are 4 countries involved and a British overseas territory i.e. Gibraltar??
