Election Reform Post 2024
Since inception, Pakistan has struggled to institutionalize governance through a fair and transparent democratic process. Almost all general elections have been marred with reports of pre and post poll rigging. The 2024 general elections have not been any different, despite the prevalence of social media and assurances by state institutions that elections would be held in a free and transparent manner.
In the aftermath of the 2024 general elections, we address the following questions:
- How does the process of polling and election result notification continue to
be subject to manipulation, especially in the age of social media?
- What are the legislative and administrative bottlenecks preventing a fair
transparent polling and result notification mechanism?
- What strategies can be pursued towards ensuring transparency and
fairness on polling day and result transmission post polling?
- Are there strategies to disincentivize strategic manipulation pre and post
polling?

Very inappropriate pannel who appear to have no clues about the entire process of elections and related issues. There should have been people in the panel who have held the appointments in the Election Commission of Pakistan, consisting of past and present Elections Commissioners who needed to throw light on processes of Elections and shortcomings in the Sysyem and how to improve or reform.

Colonial bureaucracy or judiciary can’t be blamed. Free and fair election depends upon the will of those who are holding it. Nobody can blame general public for low turnout. Why will they vote if it has no bearing on the results.

In which other country symbol is taken before elections on filmsy grounds, in case of division in pArty factions are allocated different symbols , original symbol is frozed BUT NOBODY FORCES PARTY CANDIDATES TO FIGHT AS INDEPENDENT

@@user-oh8zq4gn2o I'm commenting on the host's delulu - he'll talk about mandatory voting, 4-yr term, proportional representation and all kind of alien ideas from all over the world as solutions to make pak polls less rigged, but refuse to look right across the border as RB Rais very rightly indicated
