Even before October 7th I wasn’t going to vote Labour Tory or Libdem. In fact I decided the day Kier Starmer won the Labour leadership race. I cancelled my Labour membership and was originally not going to vote at all until I heard about the Workers Party of Britain sometime in November 2023

It was not Reagan or anyone else that changed South Africa. It was the people of South Africa that VOTED their way out of Apartheid. Pressure from outside might have push the government to call for a vote which would have led to nothing if the outcome was negative. The majority of the people that had the right to vote at that time made their voices heard by voting for the end of Apartheid. AMERICA HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH THAT. If there is a group that can say they had a hand in bringing South Africa to that point in time it is the ANC and NOT THE AMERICANS.

Love this line of thinking. Anything the US does positively is brushed aside and down played, anything we do negatively is put in a spot light making the whole problem our fault. Yes I'm sure the over 50 billion dollars south afrika lost due to US sanctions didn't affect the outcome. Truth is they'd still be doing business as usual if not for us. I'm not saying build a statue for Reagan but name a school or park after him for the respect he deserves and to acknowledge the part the US as a whole played in ending apartheid in SA.

The US supported apartheid South Africa for so many years, provided diplomatic cover for them and put Mandela in a terrorist list. As South Africa we thank the Soviet union and Cuba for everything

George is outstanding, but don't get complacent. Another great person Clare Daly lost her seat in the European Parliment recently. Clare was an outstanding person and it's unexplaneable what happened. If George doesn't get elected tomorrow we are finished.

Factory where I worked Jack Oldings, Was a earthmoving supplier a tank factory in WW2 taken over by the Government Later becoming Earthmoving Equipment again. Was the largest multi franchise construction manufacturer. They were the 1st to hit 1billion turnover. During the Thatcher years it was all torn down. 11 depots. This would cost billions to build it again.. This was the result of going into the common market as the Europeans infiltrated the contracts .The government could not even help after all Jack Oldings did for them in WW2. There is some history on them. Good luck GG.

The conversation was about odd input to films. In Top Gun, Maverick's father was shot down on the 5th of November 1965. A Russian Navy lady I met was once courted by a senior officer. Her birthday was 5/11/65 too. How impressed would she have been to see that in the film! As they say, there are no coincidences.

Has the Gaza war changed the way I will vote this year? It has changed the way I WANT to vote but due to the lack of a Workers Party candidate in my constituency it will not actually change the way that I will vote. I will continue to vote for the sitting Conservative MP in order to prevent Labour from winning the seat.
