They never have taken them self too serious...but since their new vocalist Nico joined they have excelled at it. They have some more serious themed stuff too. 'Hate Love' one of my favorites. But lets face it...their serious stuff is really good...but their goofy stuff is just brilliant. Ya will see.😏😆

These silly costumed, wigged videos came about during lockdown...when the world needed to laugh! Consequently, the world discovered that these guys are a super talented band! Not all of their songs are silly, but follow the path for more good fun!

I love the commonality among reactions is how much fun the video is. It's absolutely that! Hate/Love is a more mainstream song but Pump it and We got the moves are both fun like this one is.

EC has got a lot of great songs, but the one I love the most seeing others react to is "Castrop X Spandau". They partnered with Kalle Koschinsky, a German youtuber and streamer that's friends with them, and they wrote the whole thing in one day! Not only is it just as catchy as any Electric Callboy song, it's all in German and mixing fast paced rap-esque parts with Nico's trademark clean vocals and a breakdown by Kevin. I honestly love Castrop X Spandau so much, and it's a wild ride from start to finish :D

Welcome to the best german music currently available. I LOVE EC. They're so good and the guys are extremely funny, nice, they stay grounded even though they tour around the world. Greetings from good old Germany, I hope you enjoy the other stuff they did.

I love how, near the end, you see the Tiktokers watching the video on the little TV and already making Tiktok dances to the song - inside the official video. That is some heavy meta. This video is actually making fun of Eurotrash circa 1999, I think.

Watch Hypa Hypa by Saltatio Mortis. They are a medievil Rockband fronm germany. They did a great cover of this song. Or Hypa Hypa from Sasha. He did a Pop version. The two singers from Electric Callboy are in these videos too. But be carefull, Hyper Hyper from Scooter has nothing to do with Electric Callboy. 😆

Another similar band that I'm sure you would enjoy is Nanowar of Steel. Most people start with Valhallelujah or Norwegian Reggaeton. Other great tunes are Uranus and Barbie MILF Princess of the Twilight.

The aesthetics are a bit confusing to Non-Germans who don't know about German culture back in the 90s. The thing is, they aren't simply making fun of 80s fashion with the mullets and all that. What they are really making fun of is a phenomenon that happened in Germany and some other parts of central and north-western Europe (like the Netherlands) back then. A lot changed between the 80s and 90s. The coal mining and steel industries went belly up and tons of men who thought they had a future in certain heavy industries found themselves faced with unemployment or having to find other jobs. That basically created a whole generation of "peaked in high school" guys who felt very nostalgic for their youth in the 80s and kept dressing like that well into the 90s, long after everyone else had moved on. They were still running around in mullets and with handlebar mustaches and doing other tropes from the 80s long after it stopped being cool. Teens in the 90s used to make fun of those 30 to 40 year old guys who still hung around at rave parties and dance clubs, trying to pick up girls half their age while looking like caricatures of a bygone era. That is what this song and the weird mix of 80s and 90s aesthetics makes fun of and that is why it makes sense that the dudes look like from the 80s while the chick looks like a raver girl from the 90s and why there are those techno and boy band elements in the song.
