I was pretty sure I'd enjoy it since it still is a two-wheeler with an engine. Wait for my video about electric motorcycles to hear my final verdict. All I'm saying is that it was an eye-opening experience for sure!

Yes it sounds so cool. It reminds me of the speeders from Star Wars. What's great is that this is NEW technology and is already awesome. Imagine what will be on the market in 5, 10 years? We're at the cusp of some insanely cool bikes.

Looking forward to hearing more thoughts on this bike! I would love to see you rip a zero sr/f or an energica too! Electric bikes make a lot more sense than electric cars in my opinion, especially for commuters or most weekend warriors who rarely ride more than 100 km at a time before taking a break anyway

I once was a passenger on an electric motorcycle as I had to film a marathon from the back of one. The guy driving said he quite liked the acceleration and it not having a clutch and picking up so smoothly. We were filming the amateur runners and it was much easier to drive slowly (10-15kph) than a bike with a normal engine. We also did a small test along the way and it accelerated very well and could do good burnouts ;)

Coming to acceleration, electric engines usually have the upper hand over explosion ones, since their torque does not depend on their rotation speed ^^

Whether this turns your crank or not, with smooth electric bikes that sound like Tie Fighters, Kawasaki bolting superchargers onto more of their range, and Suzuki and Yamaha patenting new turbo engines, we’ve all got to agree the motorcycles of the near future are looking like they are going to be seriously fun!

I drive an electric scooter, and the lack of engine noise combined with the no bs torque and high pitched whine of the electric motor is amazing. I love zipping through town or out in the open. Wish I could afford this baby. One day, for sure.

Ryobi sells cordless drills you can mount to the handlebars of a Schwinn for the exact same effect. for the record, they ADDED that bullshit by cutting the gears to function in the least durable way possible. so you get to see your friendly neighborhood over-worked Harley tech just as often.

It'll be interesting to see the next moves from the likes of Honda, BMW and Ducati. Once they start marketing a range at affordable prices, these will really move forward. I ride a Tuono and classic boxer Beemer so a quiet auto won't really do it for me - too clinical. Quirky engines you build a relationship with are key for me.

That's just how electric motors sound, and the sound of rotation. Your ICE motor makes the same sound but it's masked by the exhaust.

it's straight cut gears in an electric motor... specifically for the purpose of being louder. had they used helical gears like the better companies doing it, you'd have been commenting on the dog barks and sounds of cars in the oncoming lane instead. they're supposed to be quiet.

Calling an electric motorcycle a scooter is a bit of an insult to it. Scooters on a yanked throttle will pull but in a docile manner while the electrics snatch your soul at such an instant.

since you were using the sport mode, does it have enough guts to kick in the traction control? and what about the rainy days you mentioned? is it "too fast" for wet surfaces since its electric?

throttle response is so well made that you can ride it easily in any condition. And yes, TC will kick in for sure if you apply throttle without any caution

it is not the reason though. From a legal point of view blurring the speedo makes ZERO sense. I have different reasons.
