Very inspiring to make a custom canjo. Too easy to make a basic one so I'm glad you made it better? Lots of ideas. Thanks for sharing.

Nice job man! it sounds great! I built my first canjo today with a maple stick, a chicken soup can, tuner, and a screw for the nut. Within an hour of playing it, I decided that I need to make an electric. I really like the one you made, I think tomorrow I'll make one. Thank you for the inspiration!

DUDE !! ... I Have Got to have one of these ........ YOU SIR ! ARE AN INSPIRED ME ! .... I don't know that much about music but can play by ear a little ..... Where can I get an electric one like the one you used in this video ? ..... e-bay has a ton of these but no electric ones
@gattusog7 жыл бұрын
Go to CBGitty.com. If they don't have an electric one, you can order a prewired pickup from them and install it yourself. But, if you spend an hour or 2 on youtube you can probably build one yourself for under $10. Good luck and have fun!

Hi Greg - First, great job! Next, two questions: (1) Do you use an electric or acoustic string? (2) What kind of adhesive do you have surrounding the piezo buzzer? Thank you in advance!
@gattusog7 жыл бұрын
Hello Paul, Thanks for watching and for the nice comment. To answer your questions, the string is an acoustic G string (tuned up to A). The adhesive is general purpose hot glue. Important: use a small dab to adhere it first. When it cools, cover the whole disc with a lot of glue to seal the wiring in place and cut down on extraneous noise. Hope that helps. -g

Thanks! Helps a bunch! I ran into a tough week, but hoping to build soon. Will send you some more acknowledgment when I get it done.

Hullo from England,Greg.Is the backing track machine built into the amp, what is the title of the track/MP3 and is it readily available to purchase?...Good build and thank you for the video...
@gattusog7 жыл бұрын
Hello Micky, I made the backing track on a program called Band in a Box and played it on an iPod connected to the amp. It's just a rough track but you can download it along with a basic chord sheet at app.box.com/s/yo1d4am3k1rjo27h84u00s2wln7vhmqw Good luck and have fun. -Greg

I really liked this and wanna try to make one myself, but does the length of the neck matter or no?
@cameronmeech25284 жыл бұрын
O ya and if I had some fret like markers, how far apart should they be?
@gattusog4 жыл бұрын
@@cameronmeech2528 If you're using a regular guitar sting, the scale should be about 25.5". That is the distance from nut to bridge, the total length would need to be a little longer, say 31" so you have room to bolt it on the can and add a tuning machine.
@gattusog4 жыл бұрын
To mark the "frets" clip on a tuner, tune your string and then slide up and down the neck. Use a pencil to mark the 3, 5, 7th and 12th frets. So if you have an A string, you'd mark C, D, E and high A.
@cameronmeech25284 жыл бұрын
@@gattusog Thanks. I thought so, but I just wanted to check.

How did you get the amplifier to work on it and where did you plug it in because I want to do this on my canjo but it’s already made so is it possible for me to do it
@gattusog2 жыл бұрын
You can make a piezo disc pickup for under $5 and hot glue it inside your existing canjo. The parts are available at CBGitty.
