I started riding a unicycle when I was 10 years old. Grew up in Vegas, rode it every where!! I also juggled on it back then. Fast forward 42 years I picked up a ks16x last year. Picked up riding it within a hour. 2 weeks later I bought my Sherman max!! Also own a v11. Thanks wrong way for all the videos. You made an addict outa me!! LoL think I gotta problem!!

36 inch acoustic unicycles are much more capable as well - plus there's a (really expensive) upgrade where you get a geared hub and then the wheel can turn 1.5 times where it formerly only turned once. So, for example, the guy who set the world record for distance in one hour I believe was averaging close to 20mph for that hour.... My experience with my 36 is that it's way less forgiving than my eucs and also much more of a workout. I think they fit different niches in my life and am happy to have both.

Je suis un motocycliste à la base. Depuis 1997 !

Thanks for this Adam. I have tried to explain this before. I have riden unicycles for 30 years on and off. What are now called EUC's I call an Electric Wheel. They have little in common with unicycles. Unicycles steer from your hips not from your feet and take lots of effort. As my knees age , I rarely pedal a Unicycle more than a couple times a year but ride one of my Electric Wheels several times a week. Terry Peterson aka the Unigezzer is a impressive Unicyclist to watch for many inspiring tips on KZfaq.

Thanks for highlighting “analog” unis! You are doing awesome on the pedal wheel! Like many here, my start was unicycle at 10 years old. After my childhood unicycle brother found EUC and shared, I was sold! We are SIXTY year olds on EUC!! Perfect transition and my knees say thank you! Keep up your awesome analog riding!!

Fun to see more people who grow up with unicycle 😊 Took me a day to learn how to find the balance on the unicycle 1980. And an hour on the euc. Euc is much more comfortable, especially in my age 😂 Keep it up Adam, when your relaxed, it will be smoother ❤

I've been riding the mountain bike tracks around here for Abbott ten years. It took quite a long time to master (still learning!) I've now started riding the tracks on my $22 and loving it. If you can ride a 'sweat powered' unicycle riding an EUC is easy. It took my neighbour and I less than ten minutes (still learning though!) I'm 60 and love riding both in the mountains. Keep practicing :)

Definitely a one way learning curve. Going from pedal unicycle to EUC transfers instantly cause your using a motor to do the work your body already knows how to do. EUC to pedal, you gotta teach your body to be the gyro motor and balance and correct for every small change in terrain. When I teach someone to unicycle I have them learn the EUC first as a stepping stone. EUC is a perfect example of machine and man working in Harmony. Outsourcing the computing power to a machine lol

@rcgldr
@rcgldr Жыл бұрын
The two ways to turn an EUC are twisting or tilting the EUC. Riders can do both, twist and tilt, like carving, slow speed tight turns, ... Body leaning is separate from EUC tilting as Wrong Way notes in his tires and turning video, showing a slow motion comparison where he is leaning about the same (due to speed and turning radius), but tilting the Z10 (middle of screen) much less than the EUC with an off road tire (right side of screen), due to the differences in camber effect response to tilt. For normal turns, the tilt angle and tire parameters translate into a turning radius that is independent of speed, unless the lateral load from a hard corner is enough to cause the contact patch to flex, increasing cornering radius (as witnessed by EUC racers scraping pedals at high speed). The amount of lean required for balance increases with speed for the same turning radius (lateral acceleration = speed squared / radius). Pedaled unicycles don't move as fast, and having a seat limits how much you can tilt a pedaled unicycle, so a rider is stuck mostly with twisting a pedaled unicycle to turn it. Twisting the pedaled unicycle by arm flailing (flail left to steer right, and vice versa) is often taught as a way for beginners to ride. Advanced riders can use pedal pressure to twist the EUC and | or limited tilt steering. I'm an old guy (almost 71 now), but still remember back in high school (1970) when a friend let me try out a pedaled unicycle for a couple of hours. I used the side of a car for mount and launch, and it only took me about 15 minutes to be able to ride. The key issue for me was to put all my weight on the seat and only use very light pressure on the pedals to avoid over-correcting forwards | backwards. Arm flailing for balance and direction wasn't an issue. I never tried free mount on the pedaled unicycle (only had it for 2 hours). I got my V8F back in August 2021, and after about 15 minutes of doing beginner drills like rock back and forth, short distance rides, I ventured away from the fence at 5 to 8 kph, using arm flailing to twist the V8F for balance and direction, able to do laps around a tennis court on my first attempt. I moved to a long straight outdoor parking lot and discovered my V8F became stable around 12 kph, where I no longer had to do balance corrections and relaxed my arms. Leaning forwards | backwards wasn't an issue. I then tried tilting the V8F, small tilts to see how it would respond, then a weave pattern, then large radius turns. Becoming proficient at tilt steering, coordinating tilt and lean, how much to tilt depending on speed and turning radius versus how much to lean took about 6 hours, which was almost a month for me at 3 days a week, 30 minutes a day.

I rode a tradition unicycle and giraffe (6ft tall uni) in my youth and wondered if that would help or hinder learning to ride an EUC. I can say that there was almost no learning required when I received my S22. I stood on it holding onto a rail, pressed my toes onto the pedals and I was off. Had to stop to turn around the first time (across a car park) but within a couple of minutes was riding figures of 8 (albeit with 10m radius). What I am saying is that if you can ride a unicycle it won’t take you long to be comfortable on an EUC. The danger is however that 50kph on an EUC might feel out of this world. Falling at that speed might well take you out of this world! Take care 😁

there's an interesting skill ceiling for pedal unicycles, with a brake, a pedal unicycle can sometimes go down even the most technical and rowdy trails. Many technical black diamond trails could be easily cleared by a skilled mountain unicyclist, where I would never take an euc. The amount of precision and control unicycle riders (more skilled than myself) can exert is astonishing. This is also a result of not having a giant battery, and full manual control over cutout+brake gives precise dexterity. ...I wish my unicycle had a brake, and I sometimes wish one could put a brake connected to the cutout switch on an euc...

Get your head up, Adam, with straight back, on the uni; you're throwing your center of balance off. I had one as teen in the 70's; bought another one in my mid life crisis, and didn't remember it hurting the family jewels like that. Now I'm 64 and ride EUC's. Totally different balance centers, but knowing one will help you learn the other.

Try this to learn the uni; don't just try to ride to infinity, but have a short term goal, like a pole that is 10 feet away. Ride to the pole, turn around and even ride around the pole, then go back. Get to where you do that for an hour, so you're not even having to think about it, then go to 15 feet, then 20. I guarantee if you work for several hours that way, you will ride by the end of the day. Pole to pole is the best, if you can find a place that has them. If you're dropping the uni a lot, maybe hard grass is better. Good luck; maybe wear a cup.

I really appreciate this video specifically thanks to my own unicycling past. Sadly I've been having problems with my legs recently so I don't unicycle much anymore. But when I saw my first ever euc video (one of yours actually) it immediately make me wanna ride one. I watched most, if not all, of your videos over past months and I'm certain I would love it.. it's actually your videos that makes me desperately wanna have one.. just struggling to save money for one.. but euc could certainly get me back into off-roading Anyway keep up the good work!💪💪 Looking forward to your next video

Whenever someone asks me about my EUC, I don't say it's "EUC" as acronyms go in and through people's ears and never stick. I don't use the long version either. I just call them "clown cycles" (Pellepyörä in Finnish). Always gets the message across, they immeadiately understand wtf it is. 9/10 they then say "Oh yeah, it seems to have the pedals and everything there..."

It's cool that you are exploring an "analog" unicycle. I believe a pro EUC rider should have the traditional variant in their roster of skills. I am learning to ride one myself. In the world of 2-wheelers, I have done this with all kinds of bicycles, motorcycles, and the purest form, and a 52" 1890 Victor high-wheel bicycle.
