Thanks! We have been converted to induction. We had electric and we get why people prefer gas but induction is so nice to cook with.

I've been enjoying your vids, Jordan. I live in Hawaii so we use electricity for everything. I've installed solar panels on my roof (60 panels initially, but I'm adding another 2 to the array) and am getting two Powerwalls. I'm also currently talking to SPAN to replace my 27 year old panel with a new one with good technology. I like your vids since you give good, real-life examples and your spreadsheets are great! Keep up the good work.

Mahalo! That is an impressive solar array. With Hawaii electric prices, you’re a smart man. I realized I should have looked into SPAN before my panel change. I’m learning as I go so thanks for staying with me!

Hi, just saw your vid. I live in Northeast US and wonder if I installed solar panels, would that be enough to power an electric water heater (my house has radiators, not blown heat system) during winter, when sun is at its least strength. I am considering gas instead as I used to have heating oil, which is no longer feasible.

Maybe you have it in one of your other videos, but for your water heater did you have to install an expansion tank on it? I'm trying to upgrade mine from gas to electric, and online sometimes I see an expansion tank and other times I don't so I'm confused if you need one at all.

It was a missed opportunity during the remodel but I'm considering it in the future. It looks like a good way to control the essential circuits when on backup power as we didn't wire a subpanel for the battery.

We are big fans of the induction range. We ended up with the Bosch Model: HII8056U. This was well rated and in stock so we are happy with it. Due to COVID shortages, there were a lot out of stock or long wait.

@@pluginreport7304 thanks, I’m in South Africa and I checked online it doesn’t seem like we have the exact model but I’ll ask Bosch SA which local model matches this one. I still can’t believe that it turns itself off. We really come a long way with tech.

0:55 Replacing a gas hot water heater with electric will dramatically increase your load. Replacing a gas furnace with electric will DRAMATICALLY increase your load. Installing electric air conditioning will dramatically increase your load. So this video is not providing accurate, useful information.
