Thanks for this video. Put this into practice today and was very happy with the result. Sourced items from QWS in Brisbane, QLD, Australia. Brush was a "TIG Brush Tip". Has an M6 thread so was easy to tap into a spare Collet. Ran approx 5A DC on high frequency mode. Cost ~$150. Chemical is a bit expensive but should go a long way.

nice vid, thanks! I am joining flat pieces of A4 stainless to stainless tube using silver solder - with the cheek pieces on either side of the tube, this creates an area I can't get into to polish mechanically. So this method may work wonders for me - have you tried it on silver solder joints where one gets flux-and-heat staining on the stainless steel? cheers

Cool! Much more professional than these electropolishing transformators. But WHERE do you get those brushes? Couldn't find them. I reccon it's DC and rather low amps? Any chance to do that in a bath with multiple parts on a rig?

It would be surprising... 5 amps are harmless, whatever the machine you use

You should be careful about acid vapor... Your machine will be fine, but your lungs will require protection

Hello, your method how to clean stainless is very interesting and simple ! Did I understand you right that you set the amperage of your tig machine to 5 amps and 'high frequency' start ? Or do you use 'lift arc' mode of your machine ? Can you post a link where I get the brushes ? Thanks a bunch in advance !

It will work with any type of tig, you just won't be able to turn it off at the torch. I will remain live

@@freelectron2029 Tried making one out of a vinyl record cleaning brush. Worked ok-ish. Voltage / amp control not nearly enough on the arc / tig I have... Too powerful.

Use a chemical called Surfox-T it is made by Walther company

Check the MSDS on the fluid. I found that its 30% phosphoric acid. I have had good results with a rust converter fluid from the paint section of your hardware store. I have some carbon fibre rope in transit at the moment and will have a crack at swaging it into some copper tube. I've been using a cheap dc caddy welder at 10 amps with brush on the negative

Any pickling agent works. I think he uses HNO3, but I've seen people anodic pickling with sulfuric acid 20% volume.

Instead of saying "you can source these from an abrasive disc shop" you could tell us what those things are called. They must have a name, right? That would save us walking around the neighborhood asking for abrasive disc shops and then asking for "those thingies" once we get into the shop.
