The cap isnt even 18000 Mega farads, its only 1800 micro farads, i feel like you shouldnt even be trying this considering you dont know the difference of unit capitalization and how to read a number

@@jaakkolehto1487 that still suits then. Upper case M is used for Mega and lower case is for milli but d isnt required behind f so its used as an inidcator to change the unit. μ is quite a hard letter to print and read so it makes sense to change to mfd

Such huge capacity is like a piece of wire on this freqwecy. Mains voltage in Europe is 50 Hz and 60 in USA. The reactance is very low. No phase shifting that makes the moving part to turn,the winding just heats up and burns down.

Can u explain the reason from electrical engineering point of view? U could easily explain the importance of capacitor that how capacitor is used to bring in the starting torque for single phase induction motor, how it increases the power factor in ceiling fan, it's ratings and why this short ckt happens in case of a overdose of capacitance. Then only it would be a complete video.

Here's what happened: heavy capacitor causes extremely large current in the coil. Too high a current and high resistance leads to joule heating and the temp of the wire rises insanely high. This much high temp leads to the heating of the trapped air inside the case. The hot air expands and exerts pressure on the cover. This pressure leads to crack formation in the cover and a portion of the cover separates from it. The pressurized air then is released forcefully in the atmosphere.

Quick question! What are 20,000 mF capacitors used for in the field? Usually if a motor requires such a high starting torque it would be a 3 phase motor, you'd be pulling a whole load of amperage using single phase. Never knew such a capacitor of that magnitude existed. Nice!

The capacitor starts the fan up with an offset charge to the windings, having such a large capacitor put a lot more current through then what the field windings could handle.
