Quite a large and expensive machine that can create something done by a mould, thermoset plastic and a large carbon fibre blanket.

@@MrFujinko This is textiles we are talking about. Carbon fibre textiles aren’t like aluminium alloy sheets, you can wear a shirt made of carbon fibre.

beauty of a material... have you guys looked at the paper "High-Strength Carbon Nanotube Film from Improving Alignment and Densification" under ACS Nano Letters? It shows a dramatic improvement in tensile strength of each fiber, and bundles of fibers. From 2015. Where can I get the engineering specifications for the prepreg? @AFPatEI

I have not read that paper, but will try and get a hold of it. Most of the prepregs we process are the aerospace standards (Toray 3900 or Hexcel M21) but we are always researching manufacturing methods for new materials!

What about Graphene? Isn't that naturally more suited for tapes, with better adhesion to resin matrix?
