123 - Electromagnetic Radiation
In this video Paul Andersen details the waves in electromagnetic radiation. There is an inverse relation between the wavelength and frequency of electromagnetic waves. Electromagnetic radiation includes gamma rays, x-rays, infrared lights, visible light, uv light, microwaves and radio waves.

Why is it that some frequencies of radio waves pass through concrete walls, they wavelength is large and much bigger than the space it can get through, but visable light can't even though the waves are really small and have lots of energy e.g. powerful lasers. Then x rays that are weaker in energy can pass though concrete again, without harming the concrete.

I thought radiation only 'had' energy if the medium it is passing through decreases it's velocity. The closer and more rapidly the velocity is decreased to 0, the more rapidly and densly the total energy of the radiation is released. Aka, absorbed.

Visible light is even higher frequency than wifi and that doesn't hurt our health. Usually the only way EM waves can hurt us if the have really high energy (UV or higher frequencies) or something about their frequency allows them to interact with our body (the specific frequencies in microwave ovens resonates with water to heat it up)

So I have a coworker that insists 5G is dangerous. Due to the high output of radiation from a 5G tower. I tried to explain that it's safe. But I'm going to ask some stupid questions anyway so he may read the answers. 1. Does a 5G tower emit dangerous levels of radiation? 2. Is said radiation being emitted from a radioactive source? 3. How does radiation from a radioactive source differ from radiation from an electromagnetic source?
@LQban0

I'm doing my own research in this as well. Seems like 5G is being rolled out in 3 formats. Low, mid and high. The concern seems to be in the high band, 20-100+ GHz. Using this info I'm trying to calculate what level 60 GHz is compared to x-rays let's say. For example. 60 GZ is currently used in the Wireless Vive VR transmitter with 60 GHz which is needed for sending 90 fps close to 4K video at 11 ms speeds. So that's why communications companies are excited to use it in order to sell high speed wireless internet. Edit. The tech used in the Vive is called WiGig

I find these kinds of videos a little bit irresponsible using key trigger words like ionizing and non ionizing. There's a lot we don't know about the effects of wifi 2.4ghz level waves. Just because Thermal radiation research shows no CONSISTENT scientific evidence of damage to cells including DNA does not mean it's not happening. There is this idea that the actual wavelength from 4g cannot penetrate cell membrane and actually this is true. However, what they don't tell you is more about how vibrations from this frequency which by the way is INCONSISTENT depending upon a number of variables such as distance, initial connection, water vapour and the list goes on. These types of microwaves even at around 2.4 GHZ can change the spin and magnetic effect of protons and the extremely slow speed of electrons inside your cell through magnetic resonance. Here's where it gets interesting : let's take cells that have calcium ion channels in that open and close rather like the pupil of your eye and help regulate electron flow. The addition of microwaves disrupts the usual balance inside your cell including mitochondria, lysosomes, macrophages and so on and the space between them causing communication breakdown within the cell and eventually vibrations that build up and make your calcium ion channel so weak it breaks. To cut the story short your DNA strand become unprotected causing brain or body damage. Chemical information not being correctly sent from one cell to another. Finally the symptoms : cot death, still birth, Male and female infertility, epilepsy, weight gain, loss in bone growth, muscle atrophy, psychiatric problems ranging from add , depression, right through to schizophrenia, poor immune system ,tiredness, and sadly cancer and ovarian predisposition to cancer that are passed down from generation to generation. It's very sad but what can we all do when multi million dollar companies pay scientists to word their research in a favourable way??
