Thats pretty simple. I'm a fresh owner of a Giant Defy road bike with Di2 105. The good thing is that the replacement is easy and batteries take a very little space, so adding spare ones into my saddle bag plus mini screwdriver with this head is no problem.

I have tried pressing both button but there is no light appearing but in my Garmin and E Tube App both shifters are 100 percent battery
