I think i have to say something: 3 or 4 years ago nobody would have thought that someone could build something like this just with lego. Back then one would have believed you are crazy, since you are said, you built a money-accepting lego candy machine. But a few guys like ElectryDragonite and AstonishingStudios and CheesyBrickStudios, bla, bla, bla, proved that lego is not just suitable for building houses and animals. With this community we are beginning a whole new age of lego. I am proud to be one small part of this community, because we are showing, that lego will never be "out". Also, ED has invented a feature, that even isnt used in a real vendig machine and we have to keep in mind that this wonderbox is basically made out of plastic. Respect and congratulations to electrydragonite for maybe being the cleverest guy in denmark :P AMEN :D

3 Pepsis, cool. However, everyone forgets about half dollars and dollar coins. Dollar coins might slide down the coin rejection, but half dollars, might not fit in the slot, but maybe you could put a piston on the sides, just far enough away to push half dollars and not hit quarters.

One problem: your machine is not Bender proof: Attach a string to both quarters, then press buy, and let the platform drop, then you can pull out your coins and cheat the machine. You could fix this by using a proximity sensor to detect if a string is present when you press “buy”, and reject the sale if present.

this is pretty unique but something came to my mind; they can shove a coin that’s not a quarter past the quarter-sized railings and pass the sensor. try making a double railed coin railing (put another rail under the first rail and add a brick in front of the first rail to prevent coin shove scam)

Cool machine! An idea: Maybe to access the coin bank (where all the coins fall into) add a (programmed) combination lock that uses the 2 buttons - say, 4 clicks at the left one, 2 clicks at the right, one click at the left etc. and then an NXT motor would open the door automatically.
