This was fairly easy to do, had to improvise on the flare part since I don't have video co-pilot. But I did add a flare that moves with the streaks, just not as cool as yours.

so i did it and before i made the original null i motion tracked it to a moving background and also didnt use the wiggle i key framed the placement of the null in a wavy fashion then duplicated the original footage so that i can mask out where the particle is moving because it went behind an object apart of the scene. but this tut definetly help thx

For all of you wondering about the expression it is wiggle(1,600). This is the correct way to type the expression for the movement.

I'm trying to make an effect of a flare that shapes a howling wolf's head (from the tip of the muzzle to the back of its head, basically an outline of the top of a wolf's head that's howling) with the trail behind it so when its done it'll show it. I've tried and I'm so confused by it and I've tried for hours to get it right. Any help?

If i want to attach something like this to an object via motion tracking, would i need to track it via using a null object and tracking it that way? Im trying to track something moving in and out of water with light streaks.

Can anyone help? When I try and pickwhip the particle to the null object I get an error message that says "AE warning: Object of type layer found where a number, array or property is needed. Expression disabled"

I need to create "root" like flares that originate from specific location and then flare out downwards (against gravity). Can you tell me how to contain origination point? Could you do a tutorial on that? Thank you for your help.
