Күн бұрын

This is my collection of chemical elements from the periodic table. The collection was started in December 2018 and now I have collected 96 elements, of which 83 are in the pure form. The only element missing that is possible to collect is Technetium, but it is very expensive. I have most of my elements from the website svetprvku.cz.
These are the websites that I bought elements from:
www.ebay.com/
luciteria.com/
www.amazon.com/
www.novaelemen...

Some advises: Actinium: Can be created by bombarding Ra 226 with neutrons Plutonium: Can be made by bombarding U 238 with neutrons Polonium: Can be made by bombarding bismuth 209 with neutrons, Then it yields Bismuth 210 and then Bismuth 210 decays into polonium 210( Uranium ore only contains about 10 atoms of polonium, This way polonium can be created in micrograms) Curium: Can be made by bombarding Pu with alpha particles(Trinitite only contains a few atoms of plutonium, By bombarding U 238 with neutrons larger amount can be made) Berkelium: Can be made by bombarding Am 241 with alpha particles( So if you keep two smoke detector buttons in front of each other Berkelium can be made) Neutron source: Can be made by placing a aluminium foil in front of americium button, When alpha particles from Am 241 from hit aluminium foil, It releases neutrons

Great to see another element enthusiast! I’m building my own collection as well. I didn’t know the part about Curium and Berkelium, I’ll have to include that as part of my Americium button. Also, my understanding is that very small amounts of both Promethium and Technetium are present in Uranium ore due to the spontaneous fission of U-238. I have a nice piece of Uraninite that I use for this purpose. Could help fill your spot at #43.

As far I know, Cobalt and Nickel are NOT dangerous or poisonous to touch or handle... Lead, Arsenic, and Antimony need some precautions indeed like airtight display boxes, gloves, hand washing etc. I wouldnt dare to mess with mercury & thallium, these nasty guys are the only ones i am really scared of! I personally use gloves (always!) when touching and handling my elements/minerals and always wash my hands afterwards.
@plazmatter
@plazmatter 2 жыл бұрын
@@Salonika_82 some corrections: arsenic is more dangerous than mercury because its dust from breaking (brittle) can be breathed in and poison u so it should always be in a container. Mercury is only dangerous when breathed in for a long time otherwise it doesnt get absorbed well in the stomach and doesnt at all through skin. Thallium tho is very scary compared to those two

It isn’t “Fr”, it is “Fm”. (And for people who are confused, the one on the bottom left is Francium, or Fr, and the one on the bottom right is Fermium, which says it’s Fr but is actually Fm.)
