When I saw Elemental in theaters,it just moved me to tears & it was very heartwarming.I love this film!

I cried so much watching this movie and even after, the bow made me bawl... it hit a very deep wound i have in my heart to the point that i didn't feel fully like myself for a good 2 hrs after that.. i had to go hide from my bf's kids to cry in his bedroom.. but i absolutely love that movie

Honestly I love fims like Elemental they’re heartwarming cute and you know such a fun time and honestly while watching masterpieces like Spider Verse Arcane sometimes you know you watch a movie to chill and have a fun time and the best example for this (in my opinion) is Dungeons and Dragons Honor Amongst Thieves. The big reason why I loved that movie, other than the cast especially Sophia and Justice, is it knows that it’s a film where you can’t take it seriously in a fun way because it’s Dungeons and Dragons. Another example is another Pixar movie Soul where it sends you a message on how to appreciate life itself and it was so cool to experience a movie that is basically a life lesson to everyone. Movies/series like these makes you feel good and why I love it (sorry for rambling so much 😂😂)

love how you go the extra mile with both an intro & outro with information & then talk about the whole movie. i love reactions where someone shares a lot of their thoughts and their feelings & ideas about what's happening along the way like this. i loved this movie, and it works so well how the light scifi / fantasy of people made of elements is a lot of fun but also it's all built around translating an experience of being an immigrant with their own culture that they fuel & maintain, like keeping a blue flame burning, in the midst of a "mainstream" that could figuratively "water down" or "extinguish" that culture, which is literal here through the water. meanwhile the whole stopping the leak plotline being symbolic of how ember feels like if she doesn't run the shop, she could lose that identity, or let down & even kill her dad & their family, and her struggling with that more comes with more leaks that have to be fixed that are threatening the shop, and her dad wade & ember's relationship and that whole thread is both so cute & charming & fun and also feels really real, the way they obviously just enjoy being together but also how you can see them both affect & learn from each other, so that ember struggling so much makes sense when it's not only a crush, but about how the two of them are already changing each other's lives. the two of them finding a balance is important for their relationship working without anyone being evaporated or extinguished lol & it's also about their way of handling things right now is a problem for themselves but is something the other learns from. ember starting out as someone who can't let it out (except in occasional big explosions) and is trying to hold it together & power through no matter what, even at her own cost, and wade starting out unable to keep it in, hold it together, or keep anything going. then wade ends up inspired by ember's drive and her pointing out how fragile / temporary things can be, so you have to be aware of what you've got, while ember benefits from wade's more going with the flow, and not shutting out how you're feeling. all while it doesn't pretend that wade can't get angry too or ember has never been sad, but that they just have different personalities and have dealt with different situations in different ways, and end up more in tune with themselves and have grown as people for interacting. it feels really real, and i found myself relating in a way that was even just like, they both feel like parts of myself that kind of play off of each other & try to always keep a balance. it's also fun how they give us that start to the relationship where they're both at odds at first & wade's just causing ember major problems & isn't understanding that, but there's not then like the romcom approach of like, relationship conflict is about basically hating each other mostly or anyone doing something terrible to the other that's supposed to get smoothed over way too easily. the conflict at the start is wade lacking the perspective to get just how high the stakes are for ember, since his life has been more secure and part of that "mainstream," where he may be having major problems with work but he's had the ability to try multiple jobs, unlike ember who hasn't gotten to consider one besides running the shop, and if he loses a job, he probably isn't worried about it actually killing his mom. but then wade's also so sympathetic and cares about other people that as ember starts to be more open about everything going on with her (which she can't be at first, because it's so hard for her to admit even to herself that she might let her dad down this badly, and she doesn't even yet fully realize she doesn't want to run the shop at all, so she can't explain it yet even if she wanted to) wade cares about how she feels and wants to help her, and keeps proving that he's willing to put in the effort that it'd take to find a balance with her being fire and let her be with him without sacrificing that, instead of ember having to make all these compromises and figure out how to make it work on her own, even though she's definitely also putting in effort and changing and trying new things. and wade also having dealt with someone really serious that ember hasn't yet, because his own dad has died, and his having these regrets around that that can't be resolved, like what ember's dad also deals with. so he can already empathize with that level of serious emotions and conflict, even ones that might go on your whole life, even though in other ways he's had the easier life & can't immediately relate to what ember's struggling with. and of course they both just have fun being with each other lol & bring out each other's personality, and it's funny & cute. but it's fun how at first we're getting ember's perspective & have only just met wade, so there's a lot of room to just be frustrated like she is & not really get his bigger personality until they spend more time together & talking & working through something. it feels like it fits the pace of the scenes really well and it gives the relationship more depth, & it's a lot of fun to see people surprised by wade & end up turning around on how they feel about him lol. i loved the track during the hot air balloon scene and how he understood that ember had been scared as a kid without her saying so, and then even had that understanding about her temper that i think some people never figure out about their anger at all. and in the stadium game scene, he's the one who can support lutz because he's not focused on this sports player "letting people down," he's the one connecting with how lutz feels....ember's feeling like she has to like, also be part of this team with her family, perform and bring her A game, not let them down, and while part of the story is wade needing to learn more about that and get more about her & her life & what she deals with, he's also immediately seeing how she's feeling in the middle of everything, and is ready to support and help her and the animation is amazing and so fun to watch. the way these half transparent fluid characters look and move. wade refracting light constantly is my favorite lol. pixar is using such a balance too of like the complex physics that make textures and motion and so many details look incredible, while not just trying to use that to make everything "realistic" and instead using a lot of different choices for style and visual effects that can work together to look great. like how "realistic" fire would either be way too bright or too transparent to really work well, so they use this different style and add in shapes and outlines like you might see if it was 2D art. and wade wouldn't "realistically" have that like light refraction inside him all the time like from waves on a swimming pool surface, but it looks amazing lol & stands out more, & the way the hair/waves on the top of his head will always be pointing either left or right like a 2D design might, instead of ever just towards the camera or anything, and that lets him keep that kind of water drop shaped silhouette. there's also so much color in this film, like full rainbow, and so many different palettes for different scenes, but there's also always a lot of atmosphere, and those colors are all kept in balance. and they definitely use lighting in a lot of different ways, all the glowing and refracting of light, fire giving off cinders, the way wade & ember's light mixes into pink/purple (which like, orange & bright blue light Would mix into magenta! so i love using that idea here) and all the ways like reflecting light or refracting it or giving it off is used to illustrate emotions and be part of the metaphors they use. visuals are amaaazing plus i love the way people's expressions work lol also given really flexible animation and act really "drawn" with all the variety and style put into them anyways obviously i love the movie and the ideas and characters and story and the visuals, i laughed and cried multiple times lol, and it was a great experience watching it and i was like wow and really engaged. there's so much to connect to in how much this story is about dealing with like big complex emotional matters and how people can find room to grow and blossom and light up. and all while staying centered around this thread of a story of an experience being a 2nd generation immigrant child, where even if that's not someone's experience they don't have to "cancel it out" or ignore it or pretend it's all only something completely different to care & to find connections to relate to, which is part of the point lol. long comment because when i like something i could talk forever basically & it's actually harder for me to keep it short haha and because i wanted to comment because this reaction was so fun! thanks for putting that together and sharing, it's a great video

Also fun fact: the crew used over 151,000 cores (brains of a computer) to make this. For reference, Toy Story, Pixar’s first movie that released in 1995, only used about 294 cores.
