I don't know anything about physics, but this clipped evoked real emotion. With each bounce I got a bit more uneasy; even though it was CG, the thought and sight of an elephant on a trampoline had me on edge. I also have to say that it was stunningly beautiful seeing a beast typically viewed as majestic but doughty perform such elegant moves. There's something poetic in an object so large becoming weightless even if its only for moments at a time.

Fun fact: Elephants can't actually jump. (obviously it's an animation, I get it.) They are huge animals, so a lot of energy would be needed in order to jump. Not only that, but they don't have to jump. To get away from preditors, they have tusks and large groupings. And even if they wanted to try, all of the bones in their legs are pointed downwards, not letting them get a "springy" motion to get into the air. I hope I've been educational today :)

I remember every time as a little kid I would go over to my grandmas house and this would be the video we would always watch on her small black computer. I can’t believe I still remember it til this day but this video still brings me comfort.

the animation is very cool and realistic, even though we will never ever see an elephant doing this, but what I mean is that when the animal walks, you can see in the feet how they deform by means of the weight (this actually happens on real elephants), the pace of walking and how detailed the skin is. Overall, the animations is very good and its resolution is very good, looks like a very late videogame graphics. Keep it up Nicolas, you're a good animator.

Listen: Those who say it's not real are just *trolls* looking for attention by posting something intentionally stupid they know idiots will reply to. Here's how trolling works. If somebody thinks you're such an idiot to post something like that then *they* are idiots. These are the kind of idiots trolls go for with their troll-bait. Quite simply: they're fake idiots looking to annoy stupid people who think they're serious. Not quite, they just appreciate the incredible work behind this animation, thats all. It takes a lot of work to get this quality and seamless motion. Its the same as if I've said, people are insane because they like Shrek, same idea :P altho no live animals to compare to xD

I don't really care that the elephant is obviously fake. I just love this video because despite the astronomical odds, this elephant is jumping on this trampoline, doing flips, and basically enjoying himself. i smile everytime i watch it. :)

Dear people saying this is 'fake'- no, it isn't. It's exactly what it says it is- an animation short. To be honest it's a credit to the animator that he has so many of you basing its 'fakeness' purely on the basis that 'elephants can't jump' rather than the fact this is all made on a computer. Watching 'Dumbo' must confuse you lot so very much...

people, this is clearly not fake! it was just touched up a bit in the animation studio so that it looked more cool. i know because the guy that video recorded this elephant jumping is my 6th cousin and he showed me the footage. btw if you wanna know the elephant name is Sir Chasm.
