I have never seen such happy elephants!! They were like giddy little kids out playing. Such a joy to watch 😍

They don't just look content or happy-- they look absolutely thrilled! Look at how excitable they are, just walking round and round a tree is fun! This all jumped off the screen within the first 5 seconds of footage, wow! Beautiful :)

I know this was made a long time ago and I've watched it before, but I never get tired of seeing the elephants enjoying their freedom. You can actually see them smiling!! This brought tears to my eyes, to see how joyous these elephants were to be free of chains, just to be elephants. How any one could hurt these creatures is beyond me. They're so sweet and intelligent. If you make friends with an elephant you have a friend for life. They just want to be free, natural elephants, and they deserve to be!💕🐘💕

It was amazing to see how happy they were to be freed of the chains that bound them for years. To see them spin in a circle something they could never do because of their chains, and shake and pick up their legs seemingly in disbelief they were finally free. It's a feeling of pure joy they are showing. Just beautiful.

We went to Mae Rim sanctuary near Chiang Mai, Thailand, ... and I fell in love with these amazing beings, whose sentience is beyond anything I’ve ever known. Sharing a hug with an elephant was absolute joy! 💕🦋

What makes this video fun to watch is the joy and excitement exhibited by the three elephants when their chains were removed and for the first time, they were able to walk, move and swim unbound by chains, and explore their surroundings freely.

Was in tears to see the relief and excitement of the elephants running round and round the trees. The trumpeting was a shout of joy. Only a hard heart wouldn't be moved by this sight.

To say they are happy is an understatement. The enormous amount of joy they are feeling is so beautiful. I swear it looked like they were trying to jump up and down to show the full extent of what they were feeling.

I'm in tears! Tears of happiness! Overjoyed, yet sad bc they should never have to experience freedom for the first time, they should be free as they were born to be! Elephants are truly gentle giants, they are sooo maternal, so loving, and the whole idea of hurting them is unforgivable to me. People who say they dont matter have no souls. They have emotions, a dynamic they need to live by and flourish. I am so happy! My prayer is for all to be free! All!

One clear sign of abuse of captive elephants is their torn and ragged ears from beatings, hooks, and pulling and tearing their ears into submission. These elephants display such abuse. 🐘❤️🐘❤️🐘❤️

I loved seeing this! How absolutely wonderful to see and hear them trumpeting with excitement and rubbing themselves on trees with sheer abandon! You can hear and feel their joy! I'm so glad that the chains are off their legs and the heavy carrying seats are off of their backs. They look so happy to be free of chains and to be able to splash in the water, throw dust on their backs and eat what grass and leaves that they want, when they want! Thank you to Lek and all the people and volunteers who support her and her sanctuary. What an amazing thing they have done to help these elephants. A thank you also to the owners of the elephants that have given up their rights to these beautiful elephants and the government for helping it along.

I used to manage a wildlife refuge in America, every release or re-release left me feeling almost like I gave birth....thank you, volunteers and wildlife experts for making this happen AND sharing this with us!☮️♥️🕉

Freedom is the right of all living things...including humans

Thank you for sharing this uplifting video. The joy these elephants are experiencing is palpable for everyone to observe and experience WITH them... I pray that they can show this video to others who have imprisoned elephants, and perhaps it will move their hearts to realize what they're doing is wrong... The best way to change peoples attitude is through loving and compassionate education. If we were to reveal are out rage and anger toward them they would harden their hearts and it would make them firm in there resolve to keep an elephant chained up. If we gently and lovingly show them the joy that these elephants experience at freedom, and let them realize just how intelligent elephants are, and that they dohave a sense of self-awareness, perhaps this vile and inhumane practice will come to an end.

The unfortunate thing is that most tourists have no knowledge of the way these animals are abused. I had no idea that elephants were so mistreated until I stumbled upon these videos. I knew elephants were mistreated in the circus, but I had no idea that riding elephants were also abused and chained. I only became aware of this after watching "Tyke: The Elephant Outlaw" (I think that's the title). Now, I know better than to support tourist elephants. A month ago, I didn't.

Only humans are so cruel to chain up these sensitive, social, intelligent, majestic beings

This is the way they are meant to live. Free and wild
