Wow! What an awesome video! Loaded chock full of incredible information and indeed that was a barn burner of an episode…truly epic! Lots of surprises as well. Definitely keep wearing the aloha shirts and get as many as you can 😂. I’ve a collection of them that keeps growing and are my uniform when I’m not working. Hi Steve! From my limited knowledge of origins of different cocktails and where they come from around the world, would a short show or series of a cocktail from each certain country be a good idea? Not by origin of the alcohol in it as such but from the country of where the bar/mixologist creator developed it

I've been on a road of rum discovery the last few years, but I've really only first heard of the Corn 'n Oil in the last month or so. I'm going to be getting my first bottle of falernum ASAP and starting my own taste tests with my rum collection 😁

StB, I will be on holiday in London to see the Christmas markets in December. Do you have some rums recommend I purchase to bring home that I cannot buy in the States? Something like the Island Slice?? For my Corn n’ Oil watching you make all of your versions, I made 2 oz RL Seale 12 year, 0.5 oz John D. Taylor velvet falernum, a quarter of a dropper of Elmakule Tiki bitters, and expressed some drops of lime juice from a lime coin. Amazing cocktail.

Ha. Where do I start. Here’s my actual advice though. Go and seek (David) Brady out at the Black Parrot Bar. It’s the Rum Library. 100s of Rums opened for you to try. You can then get a feel for what you like. Including some British Rums. THEN you can take yourself off to a Whisky Exchange Shop (there’s 3 or 4 I think) and buy what you liked. If I’m being proudly British…try the Dropworks range at Black Parrot (cos Lewis owns the Bar as well) so they’ll be there. For me, they’re in the elite top tier of British Rums. (We interestingly worked out there’s now at least 50 British Scratch Rums now). And although Lewis won’t admit it cos he’s humble, I’d say there’s only about 10-12 making truly great Rums so far. You should be able to try the likes Ninefold, Outlier, Goldstone, Scratch at Black Parrot too. Basically stalk Black Parrot on Instagram. Tell Brady your plans…tell him I’ve sent you…and he’ll look after you and talk you through Rums to try. It’s THE experience for Rum Lovers in London.
